"Finally a USB Mixer that can compete it's Firewire cousins"

I would definitely recommend this to a small recording shop, home studio, or enthusiast. It does function well as a stand-alone - but for the price you are really paying for the USB 2.0 interface. I highly recommend it.

Sound
Be careful with the gain knobs. They are quiet up to about 85%, then WHOA! Other than that it sounds great.

Features
This USB 2.0 mixer has all of the features of it's firewire cousin - but the convenience of USB. (The original USB models only sent the 2 channel mix to the computer. This one sends all channels to the computer and returns the 2 channel mix) Only thing keeping it from a 10 is the absence of a mute and a solo button. Other than that I love it

Ease of Use
It's pretty straightforward. Easy to use as stand alone or as a multichannel ASIO enabled USB I/O. 100 effects aren't labelled. You know what "group" you are in, but not the specific program. Not a big deal, just noting it.

Quality
Seems pretty durable, although I willbe keeping an eye on the knobs. I didn't like the sliders on a Multimix Firewire 16 that I got to try. One thing though...This sucker gets hot. I mean HOT! and quick. It also takes a long time to cool. I am definitely sure to turn it off when I'm done. I don't know how the heat would affect a LONG session.

Value
I think it's a good deal. I was torn between read more this and the Multimix Firewire 12 (they are the same price right now). I just don't want to use Firewire. So I bought this for convenience, but I think that all-in-all the Multimix Firewire 12 is the better choice value-wise.

Manufacturer Support
I haven't had to call or email support. But, they get a 7 because their website *STILL* (as of the writing of this review) does not have the drivers for this mixer posted. I read somewhere that it doesn't need drivers. It does. Well if you want ASIO and near zero latency monitoring (and you do) it does. Do not lose the CD.

The Wow Factor
Anyone who thinks a mixer is sexy has real issues. It's functional, it's laid out well. It's a mixer. It's not ugly. I don't really know what to say here.
