"Very nice for the money"

Overall: 3.5 out of 5 stars

I would say a 200.00 recorder is a mid priced item. I have owned the H2 for four years and just got the H2N.This is a simple to use recorder that sounds great..The are no XLR inputs but this unit has most everything else.A word to the wise get the accessory pack. You will use it. The only drawback is the lack of accessories without the accessory pack.It doesn't even come with a computer cord and you really need one to get the most of what the recorder can do but this is the best unit under 250.00 bucks..Zoom makes good stuff but needs to a little more generous with the accessories like they were with the H2 a few years ago.

"H2n Much Easier To Use, More Economical"

I have been using a Zoom H2 since the product first came on the market and was satisfied with the first-generation model. But the new H2n is by far a worthy upgrade with it's larger screen, six mic configuration and a much more user-friendly features interface. I especially like being able to manually dial the input volume level and mic configuration on the fly - and without having to access the features menu. I am using this new H2n to capture radio broadcast material, audio transcripts of local meetings, and track demos to distribute to my mates to prep for band rehearsals. I highly recommend this unit for journalists and musicians!

I'm a music journalist and I used it for interviews at some Rock Festivals. I needed ease of use, dependability and durability and the Zoom H2N gave me all of that and more. Turn it on, push record and you are on your way. I grabbed the accessory bundle as well to get the stand and the mic handle. It is so very easy to transfer from the Mic to your computer via SD card or USB cable. For the money there is none better on the planet.

"OOOOPS - revised rating"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Just realized I rated the Zoom H2n recorder but used the star scale incorrectly. I scored mostly 1 star when I should have (meant to) score higher. Please accept my "new" (and correct) ratings. BTW - have used the Zoom H2n many times now and am even more excited over it's performance.

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
This is a fantastic recorder and a finest USB audio interface at 16 bits 48khz for laptop musicians who dont want a clutter of preamps mics cable etc. You get rreadily setup stereo mics !! for your instruments a preamp which is quiet !! and clean direct monitoring of audio input !! this device records ...great for sampling functions....20 hour battery life ..I am still cant finish my first set of battery after 10 months !!! it out does all mics out there in a live situation !!! I have apogee duets Mackie ...Neuman tlm103 mics ,akg c414s but this little kid does them all and more in fact.

"H2"

Zoom recorders are great. They are of small size but can do a big job. My only complaint is that the new H2 has the record button right where it's too easy to touch and record by mistake. I also own an old H2 and like the controls much better. I may not be alone with feeling this way. I've seen the old H2s sell used for a $100.00 more than the newer design.
