"Lots of profesional features in a moderately priced keyboard. Great for gigs, and a 16 tracks to record with floppy disk. Interf"

Feature:
I bought it on sale and it was out of box as a demo, so not many extras came with it except they did give me the Yamaha Survival Kit, which is great and the manual and power sourch

Quality:
It's solid as a rock, well made, and I have carried it around with no problems. Still looks great, although I take care of it. I don't know any other product offers all the great features of the PSR550 at such a reasonable price. I may "upgrade" someday, but this one's a keeper...I won't sell it...it's my "good luck charm"!

Value:
One of Yamaha's best kept secrets.

Desirability:
It's sexy alright, with the colorful display that changes colors when you need a menu, or rotates the colors if you let it sit a while. It's easy to navigate I love the wheel, and black is my color. I would buy it again!

Sound:
In it's price range, I would have to say the best. I am mainly a guitar player who plays a little keyboard, and I bought this after hearing someone use it at an open mike. I couldn't believe this small keyboard made such big sounds. Realistic sounds, from rock, to country, even a bluegrass that blew me away. When I found out it had 16 track recording I knew I had to have it. You can't find that in this price range! This keyboard taught ME! It's intuitive, and when you're searching for the right sound it would "help me out" by blending just the right instrument. I love to write songs, and this has been the perfect keyboard for me without spending thousands of dollars.

Ease of Use:
As I said earlier, This machine IS intuitive, and I found it leading me to better and better sounds, which helped me to be more creative! It works great to jam with other musicians and everyone is impressed by what I've accomplished!

Support:
Never had a problem.

Overall:
I might supplement, but can't replace my "good luck charm"

I love this keyboard! I must say I am surprised at the keyboard vast operational system and features. Where else can you get 713 sounds, 14 drum kits, 16 track sequencer with quantize, punch in/out, mixer functions, 24 reverb variations, disk drive, create your own styles and drum rythyms, for $500, I just say enough. Voice realism varies from excellent to ok. This is the only reason I gave it a 3 on quality. Sounds are just not top notch compared to like a Yamaha Motif. But I don't expect that. Sounds are much better than average. Even better than some of the higher priced boards like from Korg and Roland. Excellent buy though. i will wnjoy this board for years to come.

The only reason that I devalued the feature rating as there can never be enough. Lots of good sounds. THe system does require a Keyboard amp (I use a Peavey KB100) for any but the smallest, quietest settings.

The PSR-550 is a part of my life. It's outstanding! One very small drawback that I hope they approve on when they make their future keyboards is the style option when you make your own beat. Maybe I don't know how and I'm too lazy to look in the book but I don't think you can use DSP when recording in style. It's not that big of a deal though because this is an wonderful keyboard. My beats are A1 because of the PSR-550.

I have operated the PSR550 through a wide variety of applications, and was very much satisfied with it's performance. So much that I will be buying one for myself in the very near future. We are starting a new small church, and I believe this will do nicely. It's programmablity and disk functions make it a quite versitle instrument!
I will enjoy mine!

I am a lyricist, not a musician, yet the Yamaha PSR 550 was user friendly enough for me to compose a song with first time use. I'm encouraged to write songs because this keyboard is so helpful, I'm not intimidating!

This Keyboard is fantastic; there are tons of features,it has excellent potential and the sound quality is amazing. For example, the 'Sweet Tenor' saxophone voice is so realistic, I could not believe it! Also, the 16 track sequencer is rally good as it allows you to create professional sounding music.
Plus, it's excellent value!

This piano is very easy to use- make songs on it, save them to a disk, send them to your friends on your computer. Or, you can play songs in MIDI format from a disk you have downloaded. Very cool and not a bad price

I received a Yamaha Keyboard for christmas approximately 7 years ago. I wanted to upgrade it to a better model and I'm a firm believer to the saying "stick to what you know" so I am.
The Yamaha PSR550 has all of the features my last keyboard had and soooo much more.
I can't wait to here the sound of sweet music
in my home again.
