Since I won't be putting it up and taking it down. I expect it to last the rest of my life. I'm 60.

Quality
Components were pretty solid and sufficient for my needs. It's pluses are adjustable height, ease of take-down and portability. If you're taking this on the road it's lightweight but the downside may be stability. Could use somewhat broader base footing. If it's just gonna set in a room and not be moved often it'll do the job its designed to do.
Value
Definitely over priced for what you get.
Manufacturer Support
It's my only experience with this type of stand. It came without instructions, not even a good, close-up picture (never a good idea, no matter how simple the factory thinks it is to put together.) I managed to figure it out. It was missing a major part, (nut and bolt)upon arrival. (The stand package had clearly been opened and taped back shut before it arrived.) The purchase was part of a larger package including a digital keyboard I'd purchased through zZounds. The stand was shipped from another company. When I informed zZounds of the missing parts, they sent me another stand (same model) to replace it, at no cost to me. They said to keep the first one. So there was no hassle of shipping it back to the sender. zZounds handled the error in a timely and professional manner.
The Wow Factor
It does the job. It's beauty is it's simplicity. It's more practical than anything.

"Better than competition"

It took some work to decipher the instructions, so I simply copied the layout from an existing X-Frame. Although the name "Yamaha" does not appear on the frame, boxes or direction sheet, the build of this X-Frame is more solid than the On-Stage X-Frame I use for a Korg D1 (88-key). I'm using this stand for a Yamaha MX88 (88-key) and it holds the instrument firmly in place. I give the PKBX2 four stars "Overall" only because I found the directions confusing. Yamaha should print pictures in grey-scale instead of monochrome to better clarify which end is up/down/right/left, etc. Also, Excellent! I highly recommend.

My only complaint is how difficult it was to assemble! The instructions were useless. Other than that it looks great and sturdy.
