I think I will keep this one. I would like to upgrade in a few years but until then I will be very happy with my purchase. I am not going to send this one back.
Sound
The highs ring. The lows resound. I bought this guitar after sending back my Takamine EAN10C. I didn't like the fat neck or the cedar top on the Tak. To me this Yamaha has a better sound. I also like it better than the Taylor 110e and the Martin DCX1e. I could have bought either one. I fingerpick and the neck is very playable. The only thing I would like is probable a slightly wider neck but you can go up and down the neck very comfortably. I only gave it a 9 because I do want a higher end Martin one of these days.
Features
The built in tuner is great. The 9 volt battery is easily changed. It has it's own slide out tray. I like that part better than the Epiphone Masterbilt I was looking at. It has a plastic piece that you slide out first to get to the battery. I was afraid I would loose it and have trouble replacing it. I like the solid Sitka Spruce top. Again a 9.
Ease of Use
Unplugged it sounds great. Plugged into my Ultrasound Amp it is awesome. 9 here also. I'm still looking for the perfect guitar for me but this comes close.
Quality
I bought the blem and I feel the guitar is made well. I checked out the Youtube videos of the Yamaha plant in China before my purchase and was impressed. The guitar came to me clean. No sawdust or any foreign matter in the sound hole. The wiring looks professional. There are no hanging or loose wires or connections. The battery was good that came with the guitar. I believe it is a good quality instrument that I will enjoy for years to come. It seems like someone did a great setup on it. The strings are low with no buzz.
Value
I believe this Yamaha is a real bargain with its Solid Spruce top and laminated Rosewood back and sides.
Manufacturer Support
I haven't dealt with the company.
The Wow Factor
The mother of pearl trim is really pretty. Overall the guitar looks sleek. It seems well designed.

Yamaha FGX730SC Acoustic Customer Review

Overall: 4 out of 5 stars

Sound
ok....looked at this one. also looked at a takamine for an extra 100 bux...got the yamaha, it is definitely a fine player, however Im thinking ?I like the Takamine G serices better (EG531) and tomorrow I'm exchanging it for the taka, it was just sooo much nicer. Yamaha is very good, but you get a lot more than 100 bux worth of good feel playability, etc. I would have got it but they only had black. Turns out that is thr only color out there- and I've warmed to the black and im getting it tomorrow. the playability on the taka is amazing. right up there with the taylors and martins.
Features
good tone control on the yama and it is worth every cent. I can gig it at any show. But the taka....better tone control and it even sounds BETTER plugged in. I'm a' gonna make some great recordings with the takamine...
Ease of Use
cant go wrong with this yamaha
