I am a mobile DJ and usually play recorded music and a microphone. I tested DXR12 against QSC K12, EV ELX12P and JBL EON515XT and was amazed to find out how good it sounded against the other three!!
Sound
To be honest, all the speakers above sounded pretty much the same up to certain level, but when pushed, there was a big difference. DXR was the only one that kept up well keeping all its clarity and low-end. Really amazing speaker!!
Features
Great 3ch on-board mixer. Using "Link Mode", I can easily set up a stereo system without using a mixer. It also has flexible HPF setting, so I can select the best setting depending on the situation.
Ease of Use
Very easy. It just sounded great out of box. The processing called "D-CONTOUR" does a great job tailoring the sound to match FOH and monitor applications.
Quality
I used these cabs several times under an unrelenting sun, but they sounded great till the end of the show. The enclosure seems to be very durable. But above all, I really like the design of the cabinet!
Value
Best bang for the buck!
Manufacturer Support
Never used tech support, but I heard from my friends that Yamaha's support was really good.
The Wow Factor
It's just fun to play with these speakers. Super clean and surprisingly loud...

To me and my ears, these speakers are amazing! Great tones, really good sounds, Great volume! So far, Have played acoustic guitar through these, Used for vocal Pa work, used for music playback and more. Halloween gave these a workout, set up outside for our local Lioness Club that was giving treats for trick or treat. Played a wide variety that night, tunes including Alice Cooper, Ozzie, Metallica, All types of Haunted effects sounds, Audio of wolves, and coyotes, oldies such as Monster Mash, Purple People Eater and A lot of pipe organ tracks. It played it all with such good sound, received so many great comments that night! Wish I had more time and use to share about But for the use we have on these speakers so far, maybe 10 to 12 hours of audio through them I am very impressed! If your on the fence for any reason, Go for it ! These are good speakers! They are flexible with the multi imputs, they are a great value!

Simply Amazing! I use it as a monitor sometimes and then turn it around and put it out front. Wow!! Two of these push enough to fill a pretty big venue. Add one or two subs and they can cover about anything!!!!

These DXRs sound awesome! Yes I like them better than the QSCs. And not saying that because i bought, thats WHY i bought them. They sound super clean and crisp at high volumes with no distortion. I usually use them with a sub (QSC for now lol) and flip the switch to roll off the low end and the sound is Excellent. Even when there is no room for the, and the band is done I play iPod music and the bass is surprisingly Loud from the 12's. Buying the 10s next for moniters. Worth every penny. Also convenient For cocktail hour plugging an iPod directly into the back of it and have that running as I use just one For the Ceremony plugging directly in. Just Wish I had more of them! Do get the cases though. Seem get get scratched up
