I used this guitar to start.. The wide spacing of the strings and thick neck definately helped in developing my dexterity, control and flexibility. It has a great overall sound, especially when used with metal strings & finger picking technigues. It takes a while to get used to this guitar, and requires a lot of flexibility to play bar chords, but for beginning students, this is an excellent guitar for building that flexibility.
