The pups are dynamic plus have the active option. The price is excellent for the quality of the bass. I could have bought a more expensive Warwick, but I did not need to. The Fortress was enough bass for my recording needs.

"WOW!"

This bass is amazing. The sound is round and full of tone for fingerstyle and has the most amazing slapping 'n popping sounds. It has a very powerful tone and body mainly due to its active pickups, light fretboard and rosemary wood body. I LOVE this bass and don't plan on getting a new one anytime soon. Its a true feather in warwicks hat at its low price and high quality and I would strongly recommend it to any bassist who wants an amazing bass.
