Feature:
This guitar comes standard with a hardshell case, truss rod wrench, extra bridge saddle, and end pins(where the strap holds onto the guitar). I must say, having a hardshell case is essential if you're taking a guitar out of the home. You always want to protect your baby. It was also nice to have some adjustment tools and even the extra end pin, which I always seem to have falling from my guitars. They're not essential, but are certainly thoughtful on Washburn's part. This guitar has a solid spruce top and a mahogany back and sides. I feel a solid spruce is almost essential for the right combination of sustain and bass frequency a dreadnought should have.
Quality:
This is a well built guitar hands down. The frets are smooth, the fretboard is solid and the neck feels solid as well. Typically you find something unfinished or missed on guitars in this price range, but all the small details such as sanding and finish seemed to have been taken care of. It seems like it will stand to constant use, and abuse, but we don't abuse our instruments now do we? Did I mention it's a pretty guitar too? I wouldn't hesitate to take it on the road, especially considering it comes with a very solid and tough hard case. I suspect with proper care, this guitar will last you a decade if not more. My only complaint is that the action from the factory was a bit high, this made chords a pain, but any good guitar technician could easily fix this.
Value:
For the price, this guitar blows other out of the water. As far as student guitars go, this one ranks A+. To find a guitar with such good craftsmanship and a hardshell case at such a price is not common.
Desirability:
For the price, this guitar blows other out of the water. As far as My girlfriend liked it. It definitely would have a place in most setups as the main songwriting/take anywhere/scratchpad guitar.student guitars go, this one ranks A+. To find a guitar with such good craftsmanship and a hardshell case at such a price is not common.
Sound:
This guitar is very dynamic. You can go from power chord pounding to subtle finger picking and it will keep up with you. I'm more of a singer songwriter, so I like my chord work to be big and bold, and this guitar does the job. Full bodied sound from top frequencies to the low frequencies and lush if you know what you're doing. I think it would shine mic'ed up in a band or even solo. Not sure how it might sound recorded, but the natural sound of the guitar is very pleasing to the ears.
Ease of Use:
It's a good guitar, but ultimately, tone is in your hands, so it is what you make of it. It gives you a lot to work with and aside from needing a good setup, the neck is smooth and fast.
Support:
Have not dealt with them.
Overall:
If this product were stolen, I'd surely replace it. It may not be my "number one" onstage, but as far as a "go to" guitar for home use and practice, I give it a huge thumbs up. It's definitely an all around workhorse for those who need something to write and work through ideas. An amazing value for students, and mighty useful for even the most seasoned of players.
