I tested this on my esp EC-1000, and my fender strat. I like how the device fits in either guitar, The device fits awesome in a strat guitar giving you easy access while jaming to change the tone and gain on the fly.
Sound
On Point with metal sound. Can throw some serious Pinch Harmonics on this headphone amp. has 3 knob controls: Gain, Tone, Volume. By Putting the Gain to 1 or 2 you can get some decent clean out the headphone amp. putting it on 10 is some serious metallica,Killswitch Engage sounds.
Features
for being so small, It does have an Auxillary input. I plugged in my ipod and played some Metallica Master of Puppets to compare sound. and I was Impressed. A Nice feature for jamming along to your favorite tunes. the 3 knobs for gain, tone, volume allow some nice flexibility and shaping.
Ease of Use
plug it in and jam. Simple
Quality
It is lightweight and plastic so it does not fall out of your guitar input. knobs are plastic but if you take care of your stuff you should be fine.
Value
for the price, its well worth it for what it does. Great for jamming late night and or going on vacation and keeping up on your licks.
Manufacturer Support
no experience.
The Wow Factor
looks cool, sounds cool, is cool.

This is the hig gain sound for the headphone amps. Take an 1/8" cable, plug it into your computer mic, record like your jamming a Mesa.
Sound
Massive gain half stack sound in a credit card size package.
Features
Gain, Tone, Volume. You really don't need anything else.
Ease of Use
Set the dials, plug in your headphones. Rock 'till you drop and no one has to turn up the tv.
Quality
Don't leave it in your guitar. One slip will break the 1/4" plug.
Value
I've been playing guitar for years. This is the BEST $40.00 I have EVER spent on guitar gear.
Manufacturer Support
Not needed yet.
The Wow Factor
Looks aren't as important as tone.

"Wicked Sound"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars

Again, not much to compare it to, but im doubting there is to much else in this price range that could compete.
Sound
Well, i bought this along with the VOX mini stack for practice as im just starting to play, and im really impressed by it. Compared to to my co-workers MUCH larger practice amp, this gives my the metal sound and flexibility i wanted. Thing weighs nothing, you would never know it even there.
Features
Comes with battery.
Ease of Use
Have nothing to compare it to, but you would have be pretty mentally challenged to screw this up.
Quality
Very well made, just don't set your axe down with it still pluged in.
Value
Cost vs. usability and sound? Well, after hearing my co-workers Spyder that was 10x more, id have to say this is unbeatable when matched to the Vox mini stack.
Manufacturer Support
No idea.
The Wow Factor
Um, not sexy. My machismo overwhelms it completely..LOL

"Vox Amplug"

Awesome! I had no idea that these things existed. It's truly like playing through Marshall Stacks! Lots of gain or clean it is great to sit in the living room, jam away, without disturbing the kids! I love the Vox Amplug and no, you can't borrow it! :) Since you use headphones, I suggest that you use good ones. If you use cheap one your head will buzz. I also suggest that you watch your volume, the Vox packs a punch! Enjoy, Wayne W.

"Easy and works"

Does the job. Vox's sales/marketing team hypes it up a lot making you think it's going to sound exactly like a full stack or something. It's just a little tiny headphone amp. Honestly, what are you expecting? It's easy to use, mobile, and it works. Has distortion. Doesn't sound incredible but gets the job done. Overall, I'm satisfied with it for what it is.
