10 out of 10Feature:
I love the quick tripod opening/closing and the single knob adjustment for the boom arm.
Had no problems with it yet, but have only had it a year.
Quality:
Pretty well, though maybe not up to the level of some of their other products, I have no real complaints.
Value:
I bit spendy, but about the right price considering features and build.
Desirability:
The only mic stand I ever want to own.
Ease of Use:
Very easy to use; heck, it's a mic stand and all they've done is make it easier & quicker to use.
Support:
Ultimate Support has absolutely the best customer service department I've ever had to deal with.
That said, I've had no need to contact them on this particular product, but every Apex or speaker stand problem I've ever had was taken care of post haste.
Overall:
This will do, until they come out with a lighter, stronger, more compactable version!

10 out of 10Feature:
The "one knob" adjustment is great, but...
The boom extension adjustment is terrible. The cheap plastic snaps very easily. Several of our bandsmen have accidentally over-tightened the boom in an attempt to keep even a light condenser from spinning around, and completely broken the plastic.
Also, the plastic which makes the folding feet possible is prone to breakage with road use.
Quality:
Terrible quality. Great ideas. I called the company several times and talked to R&D, engineering and several other people about 1 month after purchasing 20 of these stands. 10 of them had broken with just light road use!
Value:
Cheaper up front, but you'll be buying them regularly to replace broken ones, so evens out in the ends.
Desirability:
Will never buy again until the cheap plastic is replaced with metal.

Ease of Use:
It's a mic stand... If you can't figure out how to use it, music might not be your bag.
Support:
In their defense, they replaced every broken stand quickly.
Overall:
The idea is great, and the build of the "main knob" is also good, but they cheaped out on some of the other parts, and resulted in an unuseable stand after just a few months.

10 out of 10Overall:
This is a really cool product. Easy to use and quick to adjust. It may not be the best choice if you use heavy mics extended way out at 90 degrees, but for normal use it can't be beat.

10 out of 10Feature:
One knob releases and locks telescoping, vertical movement, and swivel movement.
Quality:
I use this for recording. Because of the nature of this arm, you may not want to use it on stage where others may use it. On a typical boom, you can just force it up or down even when it's tight. I get the impression that would be a really bad idea with this arm, but I'm not going to test it out.
Value:
I know there are much cheaper boom arms out there, but they usually suck. I have some economy stands and they're so flimsy it's embarassing to have anyone use them.
Desirability:
Ultimate is patenting this mechanism. I was leery about how it would work, but I'm glad I took a chance. I'm now purchasing a second one.

Overall:
We'll see how it stands up to the test of time, but I'm giving it really light use, so I expect it will hold up for years. Combine this with a clutch hight adjustment on the base stand, and you've got any position you want in two moves, or often just one.
