"Designed to fail..."

Overall: 0.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Sound
Well, this stand lasted about a month. The pivot point for the legs and the material that keeps the legs in place is a very small amount of plastic. After a month of use, mine broke. When I look closely at this design, I find it incredible that ANY manufacturer would make something this way. It is DESIGNED TO FAIL! Buy something else.
Features
The adjustment knob is nice but it makes no difference when the stand is designed as poorly as this one.
Ease of Use
Very easy to use until it breaks.... which won't take long.
Quality
Why ANY mic stand would be designed with a thin plastic base is completely beyond my comprehension.
Value
Again, it is designed to fail. Buy something else.
Manufacturer Support
I've left a message for them but don't expect much. Its a cheap product that is designed to fail. I wouldn't want another one so I certainly won't go through the expense of sending it back to them.

"It dosen't work... AT ALL."

I have returned this product and replaced it with a better low cost stand from AKG.
Quality
The product looks nice, but in all the years I have used bad stands, this is the worst. The Clutch on the boom controls the boom posititioning along with the pitch of the arm, and does a poor job. Even locked in as tight as possible the boom rolls with the weight of the mic. Even if the product worked and served its purpose, it wouldnt last more than a week or two even in a studio setting, much less on the road. Save your money and time and buy somthing worth it, not this.
Value
It dosn't work, at all.

"Quality Stand at a Great Price"

Overall: 4 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Features
The rubberized knobs are great.
Ease of Use
The single-knob adjustment on the boom takes a little getting used to. However, it grips the boom instead of using a knob with screw threads that can cause damage to the metal tubing.
Quality
For the price, the quality is excellent. It is lightweight but fairly sturdy. Even though I sometimes have to add extra weight to the base, it is definitely light enough to travel with.
Value
Good quality for the price.

"Average stands"

Overall: 3 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)

Sound
Not applicable.
Features
Features are pretty standard, except it didn't include mic holders. single-knob adjustment thingy is pretty handy, but unconventional and takes a little getting used to.
Quality
Overall, the quality of these stands is okay, and definitely better than your typical cheapo stand. But I don't like the way the legs are made; they have this U-shaped groove, and more than once I've snagged my fingers inside when trying to close the stand.
Manufacturer Support
I've contacted Ultimate before to order replacement parts for speakers stands. They were helpful the time, but that was years ago.

Ultimate Support MC-40B Customer Review

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars

Sound
It's a mic stand, it sounds beautiful
Features
Actually, for just being a mic stand I'm pretty darned impressed. There is one feature with this mic stand I really like. By loosening the large, rubber coated knob at the top of the mic stand, you can simulaneously adjust both the angle and length of the top thing there.
Quality
Not sure here because I've had it about 5 minutes. Seems pretty good though, we'll see.
Value
It's cheaper than a lot of the other ones.
