This is my second piece of gear from UA. I bought the Apollo Twin Duo last year and honestly that thing is amazing and only lacks one thing - processing power. With a smaller mix I was finding myself have to compromise with how many UA plugins I could use at once, so I went and bought this. I went from being able to use maybe 10 plugins at once to about 30!!! That might not seem like a giant difference but I've actually never maxed it out so far and I no longer have to worry about running out of power.Once I move to a bigger space I'm going to buy an 8p so I'll have 10 preamps and 14 cores of UA processing power altogether! UA plugins sound amazing. My only wish is that they were less expensive but at the same time these plugins literally almost replace the hardware versions in most smaller setups where people can't afford the money or room to buy the real ones. All the plugins sound great!

What can I say other than, this thing rocks! I was happy with my current home studio setup and didn't want to change my audio interface (Motu828mk3 into my Dangerous D-Box) to the Apollo...,at least not just yet. I did however want to use the UAD2 plugins in my mixes. It's only been a few weeks, and I'm very happy with my purchase! Prior to owning this Satellite OCTO, I was constantly running into CPU issues when running high track counts, with lots of plugins. I don't have to bounce, or freeze tracks during the mixing process as often as I used to. I highly recommend this product to anyone looking to explore UA plugins, and/or expand your current UA setup, if you need more DSP.
