I can see using this amp for many years since it can go from home-studio to a small club and perform. If you play with a really loud gang, you might consider the Power Engine 60. It is made specifically for the TN series and is 60w of clean power with a 3-band that can accept the XLR out of the TM30 and double your output power.
Sound
Been playing for 21 years, had a bunch of setups and amps, this is a keeper. I am using this little amp in the practice space with another guitarist, bassists and a drummer. It has exceeded my expectations by far. When running a modeler through it, I use it flat (tweed/clean/flat) and get excellent results. Stand alone, this little thing will really amaze. It is quite LOUD. Reverb is excellent, EQ is acitve, so you get true CUT and BOOST. Every feature, sound and amp model is a useful one, not a one-trick-pony. You can get many, many different tones with just a cable and a guitar. This is my recording amp from now on.
Features
Solid construction, no Chinese splatter glue or half-@ssed staples here. The control console is polished aluminum (I believe) with a small vent to help cool the unit, the chicken-head knobs are smooth and the power switch is an all metal housing with an old fashioned toggle. The speaker mount is solid and all wiring has screwed down guides to hold them securely in place. The 10" is in a metal housing and screwed to the chassis. The I/O on this amp is fantastic. There is a 1/4 inch out for driving an external cab (4ohm), and effects send and return and an XLR out for going to a console, power amp, etc. The only reason it scores lower are: no ability to switch channels/voices and the fact that it has no corner protectors. The amp comes with a nylon cover that has a flap so you can carry it by the stitched leather, heavy-duty handle. Very cool.
Ease of Use
If an idiot like me can get good sounds out of this amp, anyone can find good tones in this thing.
Quality
Tremendous workmanship, a really nice amp for the money. All components appear to be of excellent quality.
Value
This has to rate in the top three of small amps available at this price. In fact, I'm not sure anyone else makes an amp this versatile, in this size and certainly not for this money.
Manufacturer Support
I've only briefly dealt with Tech 21 when I called them to find out where the amp was manufactured. Everything they make is still hand-made in NJ. A human being picked up the phone after about three rings and gave me my answer.
The Wow Factor
This is a subjective area. I love it's appearance. It's like a vintage amp in the sense that is is timeless and won't look as goofy as my parachute pants do now.

Sound
I have tried many amps over the years...(many years) and it seems the sound I had in mind was either elusive or too complicated to attain...or just too much of a hassle...BUT THAT IS NO LONGER THE CASE...FOR HERE IN ONE EASY TO USE DEVICE I AM ABLE TO PLAY WHAT I HEAR IN MY IMAGINATION...OR MEMORY. THIS WITHOUT A DOUBT IS THE BEST RECORDING AMP/PRE AMP GOING...BAR NONE...AND I HAVE TRIED POD, V-AMP, VALVETRONIX AND SO ON....BUT IT IS MORE THAN THAT (TRADEMARK 30) IT IS A GREAT GIGGING AMP AS WELL.....EVEN IF IT NEEDS TO BE MIKED...OR SIMPLY XLR IT TO THE PA BOARD...AND OFF YOU GO....THE SOUND IS WARM WITH SWEET SWEET OVERDRIVE...OR IT CAN BE CLEAN AND REVERBY....OR ANY COMBO IN BETWEEN...AND IT IS VIRTUALLY NOISELSS...TO BOOT.....YOU CAN GET FENDER BLACKFACE AND TWEED SOUNDS...OR BRIT OD OR MESA BOOGIE MADNESS.....AND THESE REPLICATIONS ARE VERY VERY AUTHENTIC....BUT I SEE IT MORE THAN THAT...IT IS MORE THAN A MERE EMULATOR...IT HAS A SOUND OF ITS OWN....AND I LIKE IT
Features
YOU HAVE LEVEL, DRIVE, LO, MID, HI EQS...AMP OR MOD OR SPEAKER OPTIONS...ALL TO EMULATE THE MESA BOOGIE, FENDER OR MARSHALL SOUND...AND THERE IS ALSO AN ACCUTRONICS SPRING REVERG INCLUDED...AND IT IS A USEFUL REVERB AT THAT...I LOVE THIS LITTLE MONSTER....
Quality
HEY....AND IT IS MADE IN THE USA...NEW JERSEY OR NEW YORK I BELIEVE....
Manufacturer Support
YOU CAN SPEAK WITH LLOYD ON THE PHONE ANY TIME YOU LIKE....I LOVE THIS FEATURE...TECH 21 SHOULD BECOME THE STANDARD OF TODAY....I first used their products on the heels of the debut of the sansamp...and I recall it being outstanding way back then...but now with the Trademark series of amps....I am in awe....

"A very nice combo amp"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I can't imagine how anyone would be disappointed with amp.
Sound
This amp has wide variety of sounds. Its definitely not a one trick pony. Perfect for recording in my opinion.
Features
It pretty obvious this amp has lots of features. Read up on it. The only feature missing on this amp are 2 channels. Personally, I don't need it for recording.
Ease of Use
Play around with it and get the sound you want. The interface on this is pretty straight forward. Read the manual for fun. Also its a light amp and easy to carry around.
Quality
Everything seems to be well put together on this amp. Very good quality on the materials and build.
Value
One of the best purchases i've made in a while.
The Wow Factor
Sharp and classy looking combo amp in my opinion. Tech 21 nailed a design that you'd have to be a weirdo not to think this amp was nice looking.

I have 2 of these I use for preamping into my power amp rig. Real tube amp tones, best modeling no tube amp circuit ever! I do not use the internal speaker but I can see where this would be a great recording amp. Short of having the PSA 1.1 rackmount preamp which I could not locate much less make payments these unit serve the purpose very well and I have tone of options to use the amp to power a split 4x12 or run XLR to my power amp.

It took me few days to realize I have an amp that is near perfect. I have owned Fender and Vox, both were tube amps with great sound but were pain in the ass for many occasions. Mainly they are too heavy to take with me. Now I don't need them anymore. The sound is a subjective issue but this amp gets nothing but complements. I hope this helps.

"Sound That Turns Heads!"

This review has been selected by our experts as particularly helpful.
I might buy a Motion Sound with a rotating speaker some day, if I had the money - I own several other good amps. But I *never* use anything but my Trademark 10. I play both my 4-string bass and my 88-key stage piano through my Trademark 10 (now with a 12" speaker - see Support above) with *no* distortion at all.
Sound
I own a 10-year-old Trademark 10 (predecessor to the Trademark 30) - it sounds warmer and sweeter than the best real tube amps. Tweed is a pure, clean 50's Fender. British is a superb 60's Marshall. I play both acoustic and electric guitars through the British amp model, with the drive (gain) at 2 and reverb at 5 - I use the XLR-out to my Yamaha 600-watt PA board with Yamaha or SWR speakers - signature sound!
Features
The 3 amp models, 3 gain boosts, and 3 speaker models make this very user friendly, no matter what style you play. The spring reverb is very nice. 9 - It could have had a reverb footswitch (yeah...right). It only has one channel - but that's easily fixed with a boost pedal.
Ease of Use
The control panel with the rock solid chicken-head knobs couldn't be improved. The knobs reconfigure according to the selected amp model. There is NO learning curve - the user manual is fine, but not needed. This amp has effects out/in, headphone out, speaker out (cuts off the internal speaker), and XLR direct out (with ground lift switch).
Quality
As others have said, this amp is beautifully constructed - in the United States, for a change! My luthier and amp technician opened it up and his jaw dropped. He only likes real tube amps - he never works on solid-states - but he swears by the Tech 21 Trademark series as the best touring amps made.
Value
It would be worth twice the typical current selling price! I just *sold* my 35-year-old Fender Vibrolux Reverb - because it doesn't sound any better in side-by-side comparisons - I bought a new guitar instead.
Manufacturer Support
In 10 years I've never needed support for my Trademark 10. I have never met *anyone* who needed support for a Trademark series amp. Five years ago, my brother and I took the chassis out and we transplanted it into a 30-year-old Fender cabinet with one Jensen 12". This fall, my reverb tank finally died (due to having lived in the damp trunk of my car for the first 5 years of life in hard winters in Michigan - it now lives in the back seat). We put in a spare Accutronics tank and it works fine again.
The Wow Factor
Players who see and hear my Trademark 10 drool with envy! A fine young lead player in Detroit called me every Monday last winter to ask if I was bringing this amp to the open jam - so that he could leave his Fender Twin at home - he liked this amp *better* into the PA board.

Sound
This really is THE MOST VERSATILE USEABLE SOUND combo amp made PERIOD! I own 25 amps! I know, WHY? Well, they all have different sounds and sure the tube amps are in a league of their own! But, this little BRUTE can DO IT ALL and then some! It has the blackface/princeton sounds with the ability to MORPH into ANYTHING! It has the Marshall sounds which can be MORPHED into ANYTHING! It has the MESA SOUNDS with MORPHING ALSO! So basically, this amp really has something NO OTHER AMP HAS! SIMPLICITY! I am truly AMAZED as EVERY SOUND SOUNDS GREAT! The reverb is in a league of its own! I have it running through a M13 board with a Spider Jam in stereo on a certain clean setting and have FOUND SOMETHING AMAZING! The Tech 21 MADE THE DIFFERENCE between a decent sound and a sound NEVER HEARD BEFORE that becomes part of the person! EVERYONE COMPLIMENTS it and players KEEP PLAYING ON IT! THEY CAN'T STOP!!!!!!! I am VERY PROUD OF MY WORK and SETUP! This setup has musicians almost begging me to set up their sound! I can't take the credit for it all but have found the settings and gear to achieve! THANK YOU TECH 21!
Quality
The Tech 21 SPEAKER is a LOT BETTER than the replacement!!!!
Value
After spending $$$$$$$$$$ I realize this little BRUTE REPLACES ALL OF THEM!!

I bought 2 of these to use as preamps into a power amp. Worked pretty good, the sounds were great, cannot fault Tech21 on their 100% analog tube emulator technology, much better than digital POD sort of stuff. I reached the point where it was just not pro enough for me, so I went in further directions. The Tech21 PSA 1.1 is the unit I should have gotten for my use. As an amp I do not like small single speaker amps, while it sounds OK just not enough for me to mess with.

FOREVER! and EVER!
Sound
This little box is THE BEAST! OMG, it does it ALL! Very simple to find the sounds and actually reacts as good if not BETTER than a real tube amp! The little speaker has great projection and punch! I have an older one with the Tech 21 speaker and have heard they are better then the ones in the new models but still has THE SOUNDS! I am AMAZED at the simplicity of it yet the SOUND is AMAZING! Pick light it is clean and sweet pick hard and it SNARLS and GROWLS!
Features
VERY SIMPLE DESIGN! It has a balanced DI to go to the house system and a speaker out for an extra cabinet along with a headphone jack. VERY LIGHT WEIGHT! IT AIN'T A TOY EITHER!
Ease of Use
A baby can use it!
Quality
You WON'T find a better made solid state amp period! Unless you get a TECH 21 of course.

I purchased my Trademark 30 fro Zzounds 4 weeks ago and had plenty of time playing. This is the most AMAZING small amp made today. All analog tone, no digital processing needed. I can anything from a clean Fender to vintage Marshall Plexi to high-gain sillyness. The active tone controls allow me to dial in any sound my heart desires. It does not have channel switching, but changing sounds can be as easy a moving one of the character switches. The XLR direct out allowed me to plug into my small mixer WITHOUT CHANGING THE TONE. How great is that. The surprising thing about this amp is how much sound the 10" speaker can deliver and the quality of the short-tank, 3-spring reverb. I cannot rate this amp high enough! Every guitarist should own one. I can't wait to purchase it's big brother, the Trademark 60. OUTSTANDING!
