"taylor 355 wyoming player"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I've played this lovely guitar for maybe 15 years. The crisp sound, easy playing, booming volume, such easy handling, have made it my all time favorite after 40 years of guit-picking. I paid about $1200 for it, which seemed like a lot at the time, but now seems like chicken feed. Do whatever it takes to capture one of these.

"The Taylor 355 12 string---a great value and easy on the playing hands!"

Sound
The easiest playing 12 string out there....I had my luthier to a setup after purchase, and the 355 is now a great player. I like the Sapele(African Mahoghany) back and sides, as they add a cripsness to the sound, which it what I want in a 12 string. It has a gloss top, satin back/sides; I would prefer a gloss finish all around, but they do this as a cost-cutting measure. I've got an inexpensive Seymour Duncan 'Performer' soundhole pickup in it, which works fine.
Features
Pretty simple in design, not a lot of features that stand out, other than it's ease of playing. It's not a cutaway, but that doesn't matter to me.
Ease of Use
Bob Taylor started his business way back in the 70's, making the '12'. He's definitely learned how to do it right! The easiest playing '12' out there---and I've played most of the other brands.
Quality
Quality Control is right up there with a Taylor...they are among the best in the industry of non-custom production guitars.
Value
compared to what the new '12's go for now, this one is a great value in the used market.
Manufacturer Support
Again, Taylor Customer Service is among the best in this category.
The Wow Factor
They have a simple, nice look to them.
