Feature:
The Us-2400 didnt do what i expected and have software integration lack. I use Sonar 3 on a Pc, i knew after buying it that :
1- touch sensitive fader dont work,
2- the SEL button dont work at all,
3- cannot work on Eq,
3- the combination of F-KEY and SEL in order to put a track in Record mode dont work as well,
4- the Meter dont work as well, as Sonar do no support it,
5- the bank indicator do not work (remember 8 bank of 24 faders), so you might get lost after a while if working on big project...
and so on, all the interesting extra feature they show work for many of them in Native mode. In order to use it in Sonar, you must put the unit in Mackie Control protocole emulation, loosing the most interesting feature.
So what you got left? The fader, the pan and Aux send. Thats it, thats all. Deception...
But it do the job if youre looking for a straightfoward 24 fader control surface. But you might want a little more features.
Quality:
Its a well built unit, and dont have the sensation of a cheap unit. The fader are great, silent when moving and most of all, it is Solid, like the entire unit.
Value:
for a 24 fader surface control, it's a bang for the buck.
the quality is good for the price.
Sound:
no matter heres, its simply a control surface...!
Support:
didnt know
Overall:
depending on why you want this unit, inform you well before buying it. You might be pissed off.
For myself, i've own this unit 4 day, then return it back to take a Mackie Control Surface, wich is really more integrated in software then the Tascam US-2400 can dream about.
Read well all the info and manual available on the Tascam website, it might be a good unit for you, this time was not for me.
