Sound: Good headroom, Quiet, No Pops or Squeals, Versatile array of inputs, I've owned a number of audio I/O's (Presonus, MOTU, M-Audio) and this one is my favorite! And I really like their tech support people, too. Feature: It came with a DAW but I already had several that I was using. Ease of Use: Drivers installed easily. It's very DAW friendly. This IO is a sleeper and I think it's one of the best ones out there. I'm a 48 year old veteran to the music business so I know my gear. Quality: Very well constructed unlike most of the garbage that it out there now. It's very sturdy! Value: This IO should cost $1,000.00 but it doesn't. Manufacturer Support: Easy to talk to and they have a very helpful attitude. The Wow Factor: All the HID controls and jacks are well placed and easy to use. I love the LED VU Meters! Overall: I'm thinking about purchasing a second one at the sale price. I went through a bunch of IO's before I found this awesome piece of gear!

Sound: I didn't expect the WORLD from the US-2000 because I had been told by a sales engineer at another organization that it was just OK. However, being stubborn, I wanted to try it for myself and must say that I was NICELY surprised! Excellent sound - CLEAN. Feature: It has many terrific features - unlike mix level knob of the MBOX Pro that I sold, the US-2000 has individual levels for computer, headphones, input, and monitor, in addition to the 8 INPUTS! Ease of Use: Up and running right out of the box within minutes. I use Cakewalk Sonar X1 Producer which recognizes the inputs differently than other interfaces - Inpur 1 Left, Input 1 Right, Input 1 Stereo rather than Input 1 and Input 2. But that is NO REAL ISSUE, just something to get used to. Quality: Seems to be built like a tank! Value: For this price - EIGHT INPUTS!!!!! AWESOME! Manufacturer Support: No experience dealing with Tascam. The Wow Factor: Love it, need it and would buy it again. I only wish it had MIDI integrated. I was a knuckle-head and considered the US-1800, which has MIDI, then purchased the US-2000 not paying attention to the fact that it did not have MIDI. Like I said, I was a knuckle-head -- consider it excitement about having EIGHT INPUTS and metering on the front of the unit. Overall: I will use this product to record my upcoming CD and plan to keep it for years to come.

Overall: I must admit I was sceptical about this unit and the reviews sold me and no one is lying. what an ultimate unit this is , sound quality is , lets say still makes my heart race 3 weeks into hearing its results , fairly easy to learn the use of software Cubase le 5. still playing around with different functions, the major issue was loading cubase , thanx to piracy , you have to go thru way too much to load program , miss the days of cd/dvd and a code . if you're on a budget , buy this Tascam us 2000 . its Worth every penny,A P. Sound: for $370, the preamps in this DAI interface are great. My last DAI was an M-Audio Firewire Solo. It was of decent sound quality for $200. But when I compared my record takes from the Firewire Solo (with the same DAW software, Mic, room, and guitar) to the record takes with the US2000, there is a night and day difference. By comparison, the Firewire Solo recordings sounded muddy and warmer, while the US2000's recordings sounded brighter and clearer. I could pick out each string in the chords played while recorded with the US2000. NOTE: The preamps ARE VERY QUIET, you will have to run your signal with the input volume maxed out! Feature: It comes with 16 inputs! It has mono/stereo and phantom power options for each line input/mic input. It has a lot of features without appearing visually overwhelming to newbies, like a typical mixing board. Ease of Use: If this is not your first DAI, you will be recording in 30 min. or less from the time the box arrives at your door. If it is your first DAI, you might learn the ins and outs in an hour or so. Read the instruction manual! Install it correctly step by step. One you test the recording, fine tune the latency settings for minimizing delay. Quality: The construction seems solidly built, with all metal and screws and what-not. If I ever invest in a rack, I like that it's rack mountable, but for now it's just taking up a lot of space on the desk. Value: I compared this interface with 7-8 others on ZZounds, from $300-$1000, in considering an upgrade from my M-Audio Firewire Solo. I chose this one for the price, the preamp/construction quality, the USB capability, the number of inputs, and the fact that before I had the Firewire Solo, I had a Tascam something-or-other, and it worked ok. This thing will definitely give you the most bang for the buck out there as far as sound quality and value. Manufacturer Support: I haven't needed any, so 10 by default. The Wow Factor: I mean, it's not ugly, but it's not sexy either. It does the job though. Overall: I expect to be satisfied with this device for the next 5-10 years, easy.

Overall: I love it. I had to buy some additional XLR to 1/4" pin cables, but I wanted to be able to use the gain knobs on the front for all of my keyboard inputs. The drivers seem much better than my Saffire and sound quality is supreme. I run Windows 7, and have had zero issues. I don't use a rack, so I removed the mounting tabs from the unit without any problem. This is definitely a keeper. Great investment.

Overall: For starters, download the new drivers and firmware ASAP. This thing was crashing left and right until I did. Now everything is smooth sailing. The recessed LED's are a bit silly, they are useless unless the thing is eye level and straight in front of you. The sound quality is a huge leap forward for me. I was using and M-audio mobile pre and this just blows it away. I would also set the unit to low latency or even lowest latency for trouble free recording. I think it is set to normal by default, and while fast, you will still notice a serious delay.

Overall: Tascam has been a leader in recording for many years, the US-2000 is right up there as I would have hoped. The sound is clear and natural with expensive and lower-end mics with no unwanted artifacts. Tascam delivers once again with it's sensitive and wide-ranged controls. I highly recommend this product for home and project studios that need the additional analog inputs for large drum sets and pro sound.

Overall: Before I begin, let me explain that I am not an extremely well- informed sound engineer. That being said, I feel like getting this thing to do just about anything was like pulling teeth. The install required me to put the computer in safe mode, and still it took forever (On a 2011 Intel Core i3). I knew I would have compatibility issues after this, so I went to the Tascam website and downloaded the device driver for Win7. Afterward, I tried to record my mic. I set the VST device settings and buses exactly like the guide instructed. The first two times went great, it sounded great, etc. but afterwards the signal would break up and sound horrible. Then I tried the 1/4 inputs with my guitar, ran through a preamp, and had no signal whatsoever from the computer. Cubase LE4 also crashed if playback lasted over 20 seconds, every time. Tried the online support, no reply, tried the phone support, was on hold for over an hour only to be redirected so i gave up. Would be awesome if it worked the way it should, but all in all a very difficult product.

Sound: Sound is good, but my Delta 1010 prints fuller. Easily fixed in the mix. I use this with a Mackie mixer, although it's made to use without one. The preamps are utterly transparent, though! Probably be nice to have a preamp bypass switch or a dual input jack on the preamp channels that'll sense the unbalanced input and turn off the preamp; I realize that'll drive up the price, though. It's fine just the way it is. Feature: The LED display. I can tell what's active; however, the meters are a little too sensitive and show line noise as activity. A sensitivity knob would help that, but, again - you have to consider the price; this is totally liveable for what it costs. Ease of Use: The drivers are unstable at best. When I tried to set it up, I got a timeout error and it said to contact the company; of course, that was on a holiday weekend, so I had to fix it myself. Windows would only recognize it as a speaker, Pro Tools wouldn't start without it - told me to fix the buffer size, which I had no way of doing. Finally, I got a generic ASIO driver and set it up. Once I did that, I was able to put in the Tascam driver. Of course, the next day, the whole thing uninstalled itself and I had to start from scratch! Once I got it running, the product worked seamlessly. No learning curve. Quality: The connectors are kind of cheesy. First - alot of manufacturers are using those universal jacks: XLR and 1/4"; these are just XLR - not such a bid deal. More important - One of the locking female XLR jacks fell in love with my male XLR connector and won't let go! I guess I'll eventually have to void the warranty and take apart the jack to separate those two lovers, hehe! They really should use a better brand of jacks. I'm not the only one to complain about this. A reviewer also had this happen to him. The case and everything else seems sturdy, though. Value: This one and the US1800 are real gems! You won't find anything with 14 genuine analog channels in, even for $2000! You'll see units bragging 24, 36 , even 44 channels, only to find they have EIGHT analog channels! If you're an analog guy/gal and need more than 8 channels, this the one! Manufacturer Support: When I had the driver problem, I called Tech Support. There was no live support. I had to leave a number and state the problem. They never bothered to return my call. This is the Professional Division? I though Avid was bad!! Luckily, I can figure these thing out The Wow Factor: The LED display makes it look like a million bucks! When you have all the channels going and all the lights are bouncing, it looks seriously por! Overall: It'll be at least 5 years, as it was with my last unit. Next step is to go with a digital board.
