The wildly popular CD-GT1 started a whole new product category with something that no guitar player should be without. Now they've added more new features than you can shake a guitar pick at including more variable speeds, a Guitar Canceller that removes center-panned guitar from most CDs so you can play along, split monitoring, a built-in metronome and fifteen more guitar effects. 8 out of 10Feature:
Unlimited features. It's amazing what this thing can do. I recommend buying the AC adapter. I've heard it will eat up batteries.
Quality:
Seems ok. This isn't your run-of-the-mill CD player. It's pretty high tech as far as what it can do. Don't think you can go treating it like a basketball.
Value:
At first I thought it was over priced, but giving what all it can do, it's probably on par.
Desirability:
I'm not into looks - just performance.
Sound:
So far it sounds great. My daughter either runs it through her amp or just goes with the head phones.
Support:
Called them once with a technical question. He wasn't able to help me completely - about 70% of what I needed.
Overall:
Definitely would replace this product. I just purchased it at Xmas for my daughter, so I don't know how it will hold up.

6 out of 10Feature:
Has the right features.
Quality:
Poor quality. The unit won't work with NiMH batteries unless they were just charged, and only last a short time there after. Perhaps this unit can't tolerate the lower voltage of the NiMHs. Fast forward and rewind buttons suck.
Desirability:
This unit would be awesome if it worked better.
Sound:
Good enough.
Overall:
Too frustrating to deal with.

10 out of 10Feature:
Where to start. This baby is packed with features. I'm a bit fussy about tuners and didn't expect this "built in" feature to replace my stand alone unit. I was wrong on that note, one less thing to carry. The same for metronome. Works like a champ. CD sound is very good, and the effects are easy to call up, mix and modify.
Quality:
This is a solid, serious, peice of equiptment. It has a robust "Feel" to it and stays put on the table even with lots of stuff conected to it.
Value:
Though there isn't much else out there to compare this too, I'll take a minute to tell you this is a must have unit. Like me, I'm sure you'll be taking it everywhere, and plugging into it as much as anything else you own. It's fun, it's useful, it's a must have.
Desirability:
I'll say it again. You'll be more happy with this thing than anything else you've bought this year. I was curious, and bought it to satisify that need to know. Now that I have it, I can't stop using it. So easy to carry, so easy to use, this is fun!
Sound:
Given it's portabilty I didn't have very high expectations for this unit's sound quality. However, the sound is very good. The effects are easy to modify and finding just the right tone is a breeze. I've been using it with headphones, but expect patch it into other gear via the line out will produce equaly pleasing results.
Overall:
Get it, get it, you just must get it (no I don't work for tascam)
