Excellent Cassette/Phono to CD recorder. First I tried Audacity & a Ez Cap USB Audio Capture RCA to USB but I was picking up some kind of intermittent distortion on the recording even after turning off firewall & Virus Protection. Then I tried the Tascam CC-222MKIV CD Recorder. The sound quality is Excellent. If you have a Cassette & LP collection that you want to burn to CD this is the best way to convert to digital recordings.

I bought the Tascam CC222MkIV to replace my Tascam CD-RW700 burner I had since 2000. I have many vinyl LPs to transfer to CD-R and I didnt' want to buy a new turntable that converts the sound into MP3 files and I have many old cassettes that I want transfer to CD-R, and the CC222 does the trick for me. The only things wrong with the CC222, in my opinion, is that it doesn't have a USB section like the Teac AD-RW900 does. It maybe the blank discs I'm using, Memorex, but I am getting quite a few discs that are rejecting during burning. Overall, the CC222 is perfect for my needs, and it has features - pitch and (musical) key controls that fit my needs, too

Easy to use right out of the box, if an old timer like me can figure it out, then you can! Had a old deep purple cassette,"the book of tailesyn", turned into a cd and i was shocked, no backround noise, none. Now all my moody blues & dave clark five cassettes are cd and i can enjoy them in the truck.

This unit does just what it stated it would, having different sources of input and output is wonderful, the converters seem to be standard (good), I've tested all inputs and outputs but have not compared sound yet, right now using adat as stereo pair and RCA for tape, turn table sound great even when recording to tape, anyone looking to get a little analog feel from their DAW can bounce to tape and back to DAW then to cd, It looks good, made strong and Professional.
