Feature:
Everything with this set is great. I just don't like the clamp used to hold the low tom with the set I got. It works perfectly, but I already had one and it is a little loose. The Starcast mounts are amazing. The omni-sphere is better than you'd think. With Pearl sets, you get tom mounts that have teeth, which means they don't have infinite angles. The tom could be at an angle that you don't like, but you'll have to deal with it all because the mounts have teeth. Omni-spheres make it so that you can have it at whatever angle you want, plus, they don't get in the way as much as Pearl mounts. I have last years model, which has different starcast mounts. personally, I think the old ones are better. the new ones overdo the shine. I like the old, black mounts.
Quality:
Amazing quality. I spend alot of time just looking at this drumset. I have the Dark Cherry Fade finish and it's amazing. This thing is built like a tank.
Desirability:
this thing looks amazing. I have the Dark Cherry Fade, and it's very eye-catching. amazing looks. the new starcast mounts add too much shine to it though. the old mounts were better
Sound:
these drums are phenominal. I am done shopping for drum sets. Maybe one day I'll go custom, but these are amazing. The toms give amazing resonance and clarity. I don't even muffle the kick drum at all. You can really feel the kick in your chest.
Ease of Use:
unless you're completely stupid, this thing is incredibly easy to work. Tuning is no problem. If you like resonance, this drum has it. If you like your toms to sound dead, this set can also do that, then again, so can any set.
Support:
I want to get an additional tom, and it requires the starcast mounts. I hate the new starcast mounts and prefer last years black mounts. I emailed Tama and they replied back the next day with everything I needed to know. great support
Overall:
I'm done looking for new drumsets. Maybe one day I'll get custom drums, but these are the best I've found. I prefer these to sets that cost way more. It beat out the entire competition (including various DWs, Pearl, Yamaha, Ludwig, and Mapex which I might add are horrible drums)
