It's awesome I tell ya. It's so incredibly adjustable, more than any other drumkit I've ever seen. And the quality is extraordinary!
And another good thing is that it is quite small and compact, but still a very agressive and serious sound. Throw in a double kick for the bassdrum and this is the worst metal-machine in this price range! I mean, mine is from August 00- and it's still in the same good shape as when I bought it. If you buy this, I can asure you that you won't be dissapointed. It's a great deal!

zZounds has verified that this customer bought this product from us.
Feature:
I love the starcast mounting system! Makes everything easy to break down and set up again.

Quality:
I like the set overall, but I think the kick pedal is kind of a piece of junk. Not bad for a beginner, but I plan to upgrade my pedal ASAP.

Value:
I bought a blem one on ZZounds. What a deal!

Sound:
Once you replace the heads, the toms sound pretty nice! Lots of good tone. I think that the stock kick batter head is pretty good though.

Feature:
the kit included a cowbell if thats what you mean by accessories. the only thing i wish it had was a double kick pedal.

Quality:
ive only had to replace one skin (the floor tom) because it wasnt a remo pinstripe like the other toms. the tama skins arent as long lasting as pinstripe.

Value:
i bought this kit second hand for $850 NZ dollars which is great value.

Desirability:
i have a black tama rockstar DX. the black is not the nicest colour, i would of liked gun metal metellic.

Sound:
the mid tom could doesnt have as much sustain as the high and floor tom but overal everything else is great. excellent snare drum. i have sabian hihats, crash, and 2 rides but im upgrading to Paistes soon. great drum kit.

Support:
i havent had any communication with Tama about my kit just a local music shop for a skin.

Overall:
it is great. you can play it loud or quiet. great with a band.

My Tama Rockstar is the best purchase that i have made during my drumming career. The tone is unsurpassed in this entry/ semi-pro kit. i recomend this to those of you out there who want a great kit with the best sound and hardware without paying for the custom kit prices.

for the price you pay, you get a high quality set. Its great for the not so wealthy who want the most bang for their buck. And I love the color, it goes together well with the bronze coloring of the cymbals. I'll be keeping this set forever.

It took me a bit to tune them with the heads they came with (I suck at tuning), but I really like them. Hardware is sturdy. Looks really good (I have midnight blue, but I like the white better =P).

When I first got them they sounded real bad. They sound so much better now that I learned to tune fairly decently. Maybe the room I'm in affects this as well. You might want to try playing them at a local music store first and see if you like them. I had to put tape on the snare drum to prevent bad sounding overtones.

Mine came with a 5 year warranty on the shells, 1 year warranty on the hardware. I think this is standard with Tama....at least for the rockstar.

From my understanding, the shells are phillipine mahogany with outer plies of basswood.

Love the style of it, the color, and mostly the sound. The quality is outstanding and expanding the set is very easy. You would be purchasing one hell of a set, well worth its value.
