Feature:Mine had more than I expected. I didn't expect the tool that came with it (though I lost mine). I didn't expect the ability to literally make the pedals the way you want them (you can change spring tension, footboard level and height, beater length, distance of the beater from the head...), and I didn't expect the amazing speed that comes from them. The only disappointment I have is that mine didn't come with a Cobra Coil, which I heard is helpful. I can probably buy one to put on my pedal, though, so there's no worries there.
Quality:The only real problem I've had with mine is the squeakiness that happens to ALL pedals after you play them long enough. Just grab some WD-40 and you'll be fine. I don't completely like the connecting thing between the pedals, as it can fall off sometimes, but the overall quality is absolutely incredible.
I was trying to modify the footboards a bit and one piece was screwed on so tight, it literally wouldn't budge with my drum key. These pedals aren't just carelessly put together-they have some real craftsmanship behind them.
Value:DW 9000's are more expensive and they're worse. I haven't tinkered with them, but I played the acoustic sets at Guitar Center with DW pedals on them and I played the sets with Iron Cobra pedals on them... Iron Cobra BY FAR is smoother and easier to use. The DW pedals I played on felt like they were coming apart, like they were grinding the mechanism that keeps them together. I haven't touched DW pedals since then.
Desirability:It's not beautiful, but I don't really think people should be focusing on feet. The fact that the quality is amazing and that the playability is incredible is what makes me love these pedals. They were suggested to me by a close friend, and I still verbally thank him for the suggestion. I bought these over a year ago.
Sound:Technically, it doesn't have any sound. I just rated it 10 because I love the pedals. The kick drum has the sounds =)
Ease of Use:I personally can't do any type of hanging foot technique for fast drumming. I always have my feet completely on the pedal, heels-down. I'm not sure if I'd be able to do a hanging foot variant with other pedals (although at Guitar Center, I worked it out somewhat with some DW 5000's), but I love how responsive the pedals are. They're easy to set up and easy to adjust. Compared to my original kick pedals, these are blessings from God... I had a cheap PDP double pedal. It worked for a while, but my speed really improved with Iron Cobra.
There are so many ways to have the pedal cater to your specific needs... this is the best drum decision I've made ever since the day I picked up a pair of drumsticks.
Support:I bought these at Guitar Center. They were out of the product at the time I bought them, so they ordered from another store. They let me take the demo Power Glides home and switch them out for the new set. That's all the support I've ever needed. I bought a 2 year warranty (or something like that) and I haven't had to use it at all.
Overall:I don't expect anything better to come out! I haven't tried the Demon Drive pedals, unfortunately, but even if they are better, I'll stick with my Cobras (I can't afford anything else right now). The only thing that'd really make me want a different product is an improved (that's gonna be hard to do) version of the current Power Glide pedals.
I originally was going to buy DW 9000's, but my friend convinced me otherwise. He told me over and over to get Power Glide pedals. I tried out a demo set and I fell in love. I didn't fall, actually... I dove headfirst into it!
The pedals have really helped me meet my goals of drumming (I'm still working on getting up to 300bpm from where I'm at right now, but that'll take some time). If I lost them, I'd be devastated and I'd quickly get money for another set.
The only thing I wish I knew about the pedals before I bought them is that they're so good. Basically, I didn't know about them before and I wasted my time looking at other pedals.
I like the speed, adaptability, and smoothness the most-perhaps it's just me and my drumming style, but I feel that it does lack a bit of power. That's really the only complaint... and I want a Cobra Coil :)
