I owned a late 90's EC132SC years ago that I took classical lessons on for 5 years. I sure do regret selling that guitar. I replaced it recently with a new TC132SC. Aside from the electronics the guitars seem identical. I was stunned at how familiar the TC feels! This is a great guitar acoustically and plugged in. I use high tension (Augustine Regal Blue) strings and they seem to make this guitar very articulate and responsive. The cool tube preamp is over the top and allows me to find a sound through my acoustic amp (an old Carvin AG100D) that sounds close to micing the the guitar (yes, it is that good). I plan to add a second pickup to utilize the auxiliary pickup input in the preamp just to experiment. The onboard tuner is fabulous. This guitar is easy to finger and the cutout is a nice bonus. My main electric is a PRS 513 through a Mesa Mark V, so I have a taste for high quality instruments, but for my limited use of this guitar to study theory, practice sight reading, and getting immersed in the classical style, I can't possibly see needing more. There are many popular songs recorded wth this guitar! The fit, finish, and set up is superb out of the box, as is the case that it came in. BTW, I took a chance and bought a "blemished" model at substantial savings from zZounds and the guitar is just perfect. You can't go wrong with this guitar!

I just bought this Takamine TC132SC Classical Guitar (blemished). First, I can't find a thing physically wrong with it. This beautiful work of art was (out of the box), ready to play. Well, it needed tuning obviously, but the onboard tuner solved that in no time. The action was already lowered to where it should be and you can actually feel the quality of this instrument just by holding it. The talent and experience of all the gifted artists that built this guitar is so obvious. This is a true treasure to me. Being a player of moderate abilities (to date), having a quality guitar like this to practice with and play, is a true inspiration and an absolute joy.

BUYER BEWARE! purchased this $1400 guitar to challenge my growth learning classical guitar and an upgrade from my Cordoba GK Studio, so i thought. wanted electronics to facilitate recording and thought the idea of cool tube sounded "cool." since delivery have never heard the guitar amplified, using the internal electronics without distortion, because there is an "chirping" artifact in the electronics that is totally distracting. have tested through every piece of electronics i have, still the same story. on top of that, the indicator lights for the cool tube do not work properly so i can't tell when the cool tube part of preamp is on or not, so it drains the batteries which it eats like no tomorrow then i can't even tune it. contacted takamine/esp 3 times to no avail. they simply ignored my inquires despite providing my warranty information. so, i am saddled with a $1400 acoustic/electric classical that i can only use acoustically. i was concerned initially when an electric guitar company bought out takamine and sure enough my reservations were realized. BEWARE!
