The Jasmine by Takamine ES31C offers great tone for a great price. With a Spruce top and a black finish, the Jasmine by Takamine ES31C is a fine choice.

Get this to start with and keep for a long time, it is easy enough to teach and learn on and sounds good enough to play shows with, this guitar is great.
Sound
Sound super papery until you get some better strings but after that sound is rich and full. Great sound
Features
Well not a whole lot to it, pickup works well for the small gigs i play. Light guitar easy to play standing wont wear you out.
Ease of Use
everything feels great, action is perfect, as mentioned before very light guitar
Quality
Its black so fingerprints are inevitable, but the guitar is solid all the way around.
Value
There is not a better one this guitar is hands down the best sound you can get for the money. Could easily be a 300 dollar guitar.
Manufacturer Support
I'm gonna assume they are great i haven't had one problems so i wouldn't know.
The Wow Factor
Such a nice look small body, pearl outline around it. Very attractive.

"Great for first guitar or seasoned player"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
Your search for a teaching/learning guitar is over. After much research and consulting with musicians, this guitar is it! Dont spend alot to find out if guitar is your thing, but dont get a piece of crap that nobody can play. This guitar is great for learning and seasoned players alike. Good action, good tone, good brand name, good everything. Best yet, this guitar keeps its value due to its good reputation. If after trying to lean you find out you have no talent for music, you can likely re-sell this guitar for 80% of what you paid for it! Not much to loose huh??
Sound
for the money, good full sound. Not the best pickup, but that is cheap to replace. This guitar is the best sound for the money
Features
good features for the money....
Quality
Very excellent in this price range....some VERY small blips in the finish, but only seen with VERY close inspection. But I wanted a good guitar to learn and play, not a museum piece.
Value
best of everything for the money
Manufacturer Support
havent needed support yet, but Karman music is BIG

"Can't Be Beat For The Price"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
I originally bought this as a cheap way to get through an acoustic gig, but after having it in my hands I have no reason to upgrade.
Sound
For the price you can't beat the sound, plugged in or not.
Features
No tuner, but also no battery required. Pretty simple EQ onboard, but I shape most of my sound on the amp anyway.
Ease of Use
Like I said earlier, has a pretty simple EQ. Stays in tune for ever.
Quality
Beautifully simple guitar. High gloss black finish was perfect. Picks up smudges easy, but I've had no problem getting them off.
Value
Easily worth what I paid and more.
Manufacturer Support
I've never had a problem with a Takamine product, so I have no idea about their support staff.
The Wow Factor
The guitar has a simple elegance to it that I love.

"Loved the guitar."

Sound
I purchased the guitar for Christmas for my 15 year old daughter. The guitar was beautiful. There were a few minor areas where the glues hadn't been completely removed but a little goo gone and they were gone. We did however change the strings with some higher quality strings right away and we immediately were surrounded with the beautiful Takamine sound. Would recommend this guitar for any player for the beautiful sound and ease of play. Thankyou zZounds for the awesome service.

Sound
It sounds great for the price, by that I mean the lows seem resonate a little too much like alot of cheap guitars do, but not as much on this one. With Elixers on it, it sounds way better then with the strings that some on it.
Features
a cool electric acoustic with cutaway body....sweet
Quality
the wood feels cheap, but it's fine

"BEAUUUU....TIFUL"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars

This is a great guitar. I am a beginner with friends who have been playing for a while. They all love it and tend to play my guitar over theirs. It's got great action and a warm sound. Buy it.. I did and have never looked back. My only complaint is that the tuning machines don't mount flush against the front of the head but it doesn't seem to affect the quality of the guitar or sound and they are easily replaceable.

"The sound and usability are both good. Unless my problem is an isolated one this would be a great guitar"

Overall: 2 out of 5 stars

Quality
I have a small problem with my Jasmine by Takamine - the bridge for some reason cracked and is now lifting away from the body of the guitar. I would like to know where I can get a new bridge and where I can get it attached properly.
Manufacturer Support
I am trying to get the bridge issue resolved.

"After 6 years of experience, I would buy it again."

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I've had this as a beginner guitar for 6 years. I am just now looking for a new guitar. I never plan to get rid of this, it will always be my baby.
Sound
The sound on this guitar is very rich and I have been completely happy with the depth.
Features
The guitar didn't come with too many accessories but it was sufficient. I wasn't buying accessories, I was buying the guitar.
Ease of Use
The action on this guitar is very good. I had a friend who's had a more expensive Takamine comment on how he liked the action on my little Jasmine better than his.
Quality
Overall the quality is good. I've had this guitar for 6 years and it's held up great. My only complaint is that there seems to be a higher fret bar after the 14th fret that impacts the 6th string while trying to play frets 12, 13 and 14. I don't play up there too often and can probably get it fixed but that's the way it's been since I bought it.
Value
For the price, this is a wonderful instrument.
Manufacturer Support
I haven't dealt with support.
The Wow Factor
It is pretty (I have the black one).

"How this one worked out"

Overall: 4 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Sound
Over the past 4 years, my Jasmine developed good tone. The other two guitars of the same model my family owns, did not. One has a buzz on the twelth fret and is rarely used. The other is not used often either. The fact that I played my Jasmine almost everyday and changed the strings frequently made this guitar a good sounding one. This guitar was my very first one on where I learned to play. For the price, this is a very good guitar. Like I said, one out of three worked out. I play rythmic-like stuff, and this guitar lived throughout the bumps and bruises I put it through. The pick-up never gave me problems. NEVER. If it weren't for the other two failed attempts (of Jasmines in my family) this guitar would get a 10 for a GREAT student guitar.
Features
This Jasmine has a passive pick-up that NEVER gave me ANY problems!
Ease of Use
As this guitar grew in age, the sound got better and richer. Of course, it will never have a Taylor, or Martin-esque quality of sound, but for a beginner, it doesn't get any better than a Jasmine. It is very playable.
Quality
One out of three made the cut. The finish is good. This product is perfectly reliable.
Value
For this price, it is WORTH IT for a beginner.

"Great guitar for the Buck."

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
i will keep this product for along time it plays as good as the day i bought it so theres no need to upgrade. Buy this guitar
Sound
this acoustic has a great sound for the price for me i just wanted one to mess around on because i mostly play electric but im starting to like acoustic alot more once i bought this thing. It sounds good pluged in to my behringer 2x12.
Features
The electronics are basic but what can u expect for this price range. these electronics work just fine. It dosent have buit in tuner like the expensive ones do but u dont really need it
Ease of Use
just like any other guitar either plug it in and play or leave it unpluged. Sounds great both ways
Quality
i have yet to find something wrong with it. The only thing i did was lower the bridge but thats just what i like. This product is very reliable for the price. iv had mine 2 years and there isnt a thing wrong with it.
Value
this is a great value for this guitar for a beginner or intermediate guitar player.
Manufacturer Support
i didnt have to use it dont plan on it
The Wow Factor
it looks better in person. i like the cut out so u can reach thoes high fretts. Sexy guitar
