Feature:
I purchased this amp for it's portability and it is fantastic in that regard. The tone control is decent and the thing can put out sufficient volume for practice with a 3-piece.
Quality:
Seems to be well constructed and sturdy on the outside, but after less than 3 months, it completely died. No output. Still witing on my replacement.
Value:
Right now I have nothing to show for the money I spent so clearly it's not a good value. If it was working as it did the first couple months I would consider it worth the money.
Desirability:
Purely practical practice amp. No oohs or ahhs other than it's light weight and comfortable handles.
Sound:
In a quiet room playing at less than 25% amp volume, I could hear a buzzing of the speaker cone, like air was escaping from around the seams. This was worse on the low-B of my 5-string.
Ease of Use:
Plug it in...turn it on...doesn't get much easier.
Support:
When the amp died I tried to contact the local service center as found on the SWR website. The nearest place is an hour away and has terrible hours...they close before I leave work and they are not open on weekends. I dropped it off 2 weeks ago and haven't heard back from them yet.
Overall:
If it was working, I would be very happy. Right now, it was a waste of money. If I can revise this once my warranty replcament comes in, I will be happy to give the SWR LA12 a higher score.
