"Blast From The Past"

Excellent playing guitar right out of the box. Setup and intonation are right on the money. fret work is nice with no sharp edges, and overall finish is great. There is a learning curve when getting to know all the tones you can get out of it. Only issue I found is when sitting down playing it, it feels body heavy and wants to slide off your leg. Other than that it's a fantastic guitar.

Visually stunning, plays great right out of the box, standard pickups sound awesome. Unfortunately the piezo is utterly useless. The originals had the pickup in the bridge. On this version I suspect they used a contact pickup inside the body, which picks up every thud, bump, tap and adjustment of a control knob and doesn't sound very 'musical' at all when it IS picking up the string vibration. Youtube demo videos don't show that pickup position in use at all, probably for good reason. I dialed in the piezo blend control to what sounded good in the '2' position and realized it was maybe 20%, just enough to not kill all 3 pickups. It was barely enough to alter the '1' position pickup blend. If you can get one cheap and add a Fishman archtop bridge, that could be the ticket to an awesome guitar. That's my aim. In stock form, this one falls short.

"Owned an original"

I had an original bought in 1963, actually still have it. Our band did many Beatle songs and the piezo in the bridge made it sound like an acoustic electric. My model had no vibrato arm. The pickups could only be used individually with no pairings. Also, the neck could be adjusted 3 screws in the back. Nice sounding guitar. It seemed to hold it's tuning quite well too.
