Sound: As a preamp for dynamic mics it is fine. I got it to use mostly as a four channel phantom power supply between condenser mics and a four channel recorder. When the Phantom power is on, there is an unacceptable level of power hum so it is usless for my application. The ripple from the phantom supply (with no microphones connected) is vivisble on the 48V DC. On my old oscillscope (not calibrated) it shows only a few milivolts, but amplified by the gain of the mic's internal amplifier it is huge. Feature: The independent switching of phantom power to two channels at a time is fine except that one of the switches is flakey. Sometimes the light is on but the phantom power isn't uless the switch is wiggled a little. Very cheap switch? Ease of Use: No complaint with dynamic mics. Quality: It is fairly ruggedly built. If it weren't for the bad phantom PS regulation and the cheap switch it woud be a good product. I expect there are worse products out there. Value: For twice the price I could have gotten an Audio Tehnica four channel phantom power supply (but with no amplifiers). That would brobably have been a better choice but more than I wanted to spend. Manufacturer Support: The support is in Australia. I didn't bother, there is really nothing broken. There are no specifications for noise in the phantom power system. One would think the .02% distortion would be applicable or the 80dB S/N but it isn't worth bothering with. The Wow Factor: It looks better than it works. I don't think of electronic equipment and sex at the same time. Overall: I plan to build a product from scratch if an attemp to fix this one by tearing it appart and installing a regulated power supply fails. (I will probably reuse the box). I am not likely to buy a product to replace it as the likely replacement costs considerably more than I am willing to spend.
