Feature:
It does the job however it only converts output to digital toslink, so all you can do is use the PR 8 MK II as an input device to your DAW. If it converted both ways with 2 toslink cables it would allow the PR 8 MK outputs to also be used to send audio to outboard processors or to an analog mixing board to an old school analog mix. But alas it just works as an input device. PR 8 MK II is a fine 8 channel preamp and with the ADAT card it does add another input device but for about the same money you can get a Behringer Ultra Gain Pro ADA-8000. I have 2 and they rock!

Quality:
Good quality well built.

Value:
Bang for the buck you get allot for the money if you own a PR8 MKII spend the extra hundred and add another 8 inputs to your DAW or a proper mic pre to your ADAT.

Desirability:
It's an interface. How sexy is that?

Sound:
The sound is quite good as far as it is a 24 bit converter with selectable 44.1 or 48.0 khz ADA conversion. The overall sound of the preamp is comparable with most of the other 8 channel mic preamps available under $1000.00

Ease of Use:
PR 8 MKII offers a very flat response and a fair amount of gain bang for the buck it rocks for the price but is slightly less of a value as the Behringer Ultra Gain Pro ADA-8000. However this ADAT expander really adds value to the PR 8 MK II.

Support:
SM Pro discontinued this item because it was not as popular as it perhaps should have been but it has good instructions. What more would you need.

Overall:
If you bought the preamp you owe it to your DAW and preamp to introduce them.
