Feature:
seems to have what you would expect- there is nothing in here that you wouldn't get in any other comparably priced package.
Quality:
Not very buggy, I guess. It's the best thing about it.
Value:
i have owned and/or used ProTools, Session8 (old skool), Vegas (when it was a multitracker), ACID. I would rather have my software from DigiDesign's PC based Session8 from 1992 than this stuff.
If you are going to use midi drums and record over the midi tracks without much audio editing, then this will work fine for you. But then, so will anything else.
If you want to integrate drum loops, use time expansion/compression, or do anything that you haven't been able to do since 1998, buy something else.
I'm going to use the competitive upgrade, and use Logic. If I knew what I knew now, I would not buy this software again.
Support:
Rotten. Useless FAQs (not unusual), and slow on answers. I belong to the group of people that doesn't up grade until they have a problem that requires it, so I missed one free patch they'd posted.
After having some problems with audio glitches, I installed the next patch, which broke my working version. I need to reinstall my old version (1.0), and then install 2 upgrades before I can use the new upgrade. Steinberg does not have them posted on their web/ftp site, nore do they have a full-install that I can use.
I wrote them 3 days ago, and they have neither posted the FREE patches I need, or even gotten incontact with me. This is absolute bullsh*t, as every other company in the world would have all patches on their website at all times, or have a full install.
Overall:
I have never bought any multritracker before and disliked it so much. Lousy tech support makes it all the worse.
