zZounds has verified that this customer bought this product from us.
Sound: The Jagmaster surprised me, in that it's in its element with heavy distortion and is basically hopeless in clean settings. This is 1) due to the extreme brightness of the tone pot, which gives a beautifully nasty, Metallica-esque, trebly sound with distortion but is unbearable to listen to when clean; and 2) due, I'm convinced, to the excuses for pickups that come stock on the guitar, which are quite bass-heavy in a certain range and otherwise are inexcusably weak, especially in the midrange, which makes me, as a jazz guitarist, very, very unhappy. I think classic rock enthusiasts would be satisfied with its sound, but otherwise you can do better. Feature: Well, as I said, the pickups and tone pot are not my cup of tea; pair that with the very noticable buzzing of the volume knob when it's in any position other than 0 or 10, AND with the tendency of the 3-way switch to fall into center position at a very light touch, AND with the truly lackadaisical tuners, I can definitely say that the tremolo bridge is the only good piece of equipment on this guitar. Ease of Use: With a 24-inch scale length, it's certainly a very playable guitar. For this reason, I would recommend it to beginners and players with small hands over a guitar with a 25.5-inch scale. But in terms of getting the variety of sounds out of it that any guitarist of varying interests would want, it's a very frustrating instrument. I might also mention that it has a very large body and is quite heavy and uncomfortable. Quality: My guess is that this guitar is not built to last too long, especially the tuners, which seem to have been getting progressively less reliable in the fourteen months I've had the guitar. The finish, however, seems to have held up pretty well against the beating my picking has given it. Value: $300? No, not worth it. When there are equally priced guitars out there like the Schecter Omen 6 (I have an Omen 8 and it's spectacular), you CANNOT waste your money on the Jagmaster. Manufacturer Support: I haven't felt the need to contact Fender. There's no problem with the Jagmaster other than it's poorly made. The Wow Factor: Believe me, I know how tempting it is. When I found the Jagmaster, I said to myself, "Wow, an affordable guitar that actually has serious style." Once again, I later realized that good looks are not everything. Don't be drawn in! Overall: Don't buy it. If you want great all-around sound for very low prices, go with Schecter, hands down. For $300, you can do better.

Sound: It's Great for pretty much all styles of music, it has a really nice clean sound, but it's also really good to play for heavy stuff, grunge, Punk, Metal etc. Feature: It covers pretty much all the needed features, and it has a wammy bar and stuff so there's really not much more you can ask for. All of the things work well too and you can get a wide range of sounds. Ease of Use: It can't be any simpler plug it in pick you're tone and start playing. Quality: Very good quality on everything, the only reason why I gave it a nine and not a ten was because after having it for about 3 weeks the input stopped working, but it was an easy fix and it only costed me $25 and I think it was caused by shipping too. Value: Personally I think it should cost more It's such a great guitar and if I wasn't the one who bought it I never would've guessed it was only about $ 250. Manufacturer Support: when I got my guitar repaired I didn't have it fixed by fender so there's really not much I can say but I'm pretty sure since it is fender you wouldn't have any problems. The Wow Factor: It's a beautiful guitar from the second I saw it I knew I wanted it. It looks great and it sounds excellent, so what more can you ask for? Overall: This guitar even though it is a squire, is about as high quality as a Mexican Strat, and It perfect for everyone begginers and those who have been playing for a long time.

Feature: No accessories except tremolo and wrenches, no big deal there. Quality: Looks beautiful until closer inspection. Pickgaurd is delaminated and corrosion on frets. Value: If I had none of the listed issues with the guitar I would say it's a 10, but I expected the guitar to at least be aesthetically presentable when new, a delaminated pickgaurd and corrosion on the frets don't pass my quality test. It's kind of like buying a brand new car with door dings. Manufacturer Support: Contacted them regarding pickgaurd and they said they have no idea how soon before I can get a replacement unless I wanted a black one, but they said they are hard to get and may take a long time The Wow Factor: Great shape and feel, love the sunburst finish Overall: Kind of wish I bough a telecustom instead or a used Vista series

Overall: After I had traded three guitars for a semi-nice hollow body, I needed a 2nd guitar, - that's cheaper, for traveling or for teaching. I had seen Joe Pass play a "Jazzmaster" on a you tube video so that inspired me to try this one, since it's similar, but the Jazzmaster was out of my price range. I had read good reviews etc, but they hadn't prepared me for just how cool it is. Mine arrived in perfect shape. I changed strings right away as reviewers advised. I made an inquiry with my local luthier about changing pick ups, but I don't hear the need to at this time. The one I have actually sounds better than one used Mexican Jazzmaster I tried at Sam Ash recently (maybe the strings too ringy), so I don't need to upgrade for the name's sake. It could be the strings. I have gotten used to a warm sound with Jazz Strings on mine, I don't miss the semi-hollow body most of the time. I bought a SKB Jazzmaster case it's very strong and light.

Sound: Change the pups to a matched set of Duncan 59's. Heaven on Earth, that is all I'm saying. Change the pots to Audio taper 250k and you are set. Use the factory capacitor. Trust me. Feature: Nice neck, nice action, nice and underrated, get over the brand name hype and you will sound like a music warrior. Quality: Yes. No problems. Value: Worth the money after the above-mentioned mods. Manufacturer Support: No need. The Wow Factor: You won't be upset with your investment. Overall: I have played since I was a nine-year old, I am 45, think about what I said, if you can't trust me ask your dad how many 45 year old musicians lie about quality products!!

Sound: Now, excellent. Thought I originally had a bad Volume pot. Sent for and installed "Tone-Styler" volume/tone pot duo and, upon installing it, found the ground from the input jack to original Volume knob was NEVER INSTALLED. Feature: Tuners, vintage trem, other hardware all good. Ease of Use: Short (24"scale) was what originally enticed me to this guitar. Study alot of jazz chord soloing and when/if those 5 fret stretches rear their ugly head, it can't be beat. Quality: Every thing about construction is nice and tight. have the 3-tone burst finish. Value: Typically goes for 249.00 and change. worth it in my opinion. Manufacturer Support: Contacted them re: no ground wire on jack/vol. pot connection. They had not received any other complaints of this nature. The Wow Factor: Own it. HOWEVER always been more of a "Tele" person in general. Main axe is the Squier "Fat" telecaster. but kept the Jagmaster for 2nd user. Will make sounds, textures the "Tele" can't and vice-versa. Overall: Glad I bought it, and continue to use/practice with it. but 2nd of two electrics.

Sound: This guitar has a sound thats somewhat unique but not unlike no other, Feature: The guitar is very simple a volume knob, tone knob, a whammy bar, and a switch. The Whammy Bar is really cool and works great. Quality: This is a nice guitar that really stands out. For a Squier this is suprisingly high quality. I would replace the strings when you recieve because they are not very high quality. Value: This guitar is worth every penny! Manufacturer Support: I can't tell you but I have dealt with Fender before and they were very quick to respond to the problem. The Wow Factor: This is a super slick guitar and the sunburst is very sharp. Overall: This is an awesome guitar for only about $250.00 it is a fierce competitor with other guitars worth twice as much. I would recommend this guitar for anyone looking for a great value or a great guitar.

Sound: I love the sound you get from this guitar bro[sis],whatever. Its acoustic properties are amazing the sustain is unreal for a squier. The pick ups aren't too hot but it's suppoed to sound like a jaguar and jazzmaster. I Changed the pickups to P-90's [the seymour duncan phat cats] because its more of my style. Its funny how the guy below considers himsel grunge. You know he was in his moms womb when me and dinosaur jr were rocking out with pearl jam. What does he know.? Feature: I play a jazzmaster professionally and this is a great back up because it includes just about the same controls as a Jazzmaster. The switching is far out dude far out, believe me. Ease of Use: How dumb can you be? plug it in the input and press power to play! Quality: Amazing, like a mexican made fender. Value: Get it ! You can shred on this The Wow Factor: Thers nothing SEXIER than the jaguar body Overall: Get it, you won't regret it

Sound: Initially it had a sort of "muddy" sound to it- as in the sustain just wasn't all that great. I bought a bridge humbucker, and a p-90 neck from Guitar fetish, and now this baby sings! Love it. Feature: no special features Ease of Use: Put some new pickups in it and it will sound great. I did mine myself, and was done in an hour. Quality: Well..... the neck plays like buttah! The tuners seem to work pretty wall- so long as you're not doing multiple SRV/Albert King string bends. After about a year of daily playing my Jag started to go out of tune. I put a piece of maple in the tremolo cavity to block it, and tightened the tremolo springs . She stays in tune well now, and the wood block fit tightly against the trem block transforms the "springy" stratocaster sound to a more "string through" sound. Value: Worth every penny Manufacturer Support: never needed to contact them. my other comments show the work put into it. The Wow Factor: I have the sunburst model, and I have to say it's a very pretty wood grain. Overall: I will eventually coil tap my humbucker for a more single coil sound, but that's about it.

Sound: For a sub-$300 guitar, the sound is simply amazing. Sounds like a more expensive Fender. Feature: The tremolo is a bit crappy, but everything is easily adjusted. Nice sound, but it's kinda heavy. Quality: I was a bit dissapointed at the fact that I had a few little gashes in my pickguard. Even with that shipping tape stuff, I still ended up with a few cuts. Might have just been me. Other than that, great craftsmanship. Value: I have played a few other Squiers and a few higher-end guitars, and this is definatly worth the money. The sound quality is great. Combined with a good amp, you can pull off a lot of different sounds. Manufacturer Support: I have yet to call them, but c'mon, it's Fender. How bad can they be? The Wow Factor: The guitar is very nice looking. The reddish pickguard on the sunburst body looks fantastic. The neck is very smooth and complements the rest of the guitar nicely. I just wish I didn't have that little scrape on the picguard. Overall: With this, I can safely put my acoustic away, plug this into my amp, and let it rip. This should be my main electric guitar for awhile. There are some good features on the guitar, and the playability is very smooth. My friends recommended it and I'm glad I followed through with my purchase.
