39 years of playing> I have owned regular Fender, Gibson, etc. Marshall, Boogie, I have played pro in bands headlining up and down the West Coast, and I am only stating that to give a point of reference. I know there are myriads of player more talented and successful than myself, BUT I want to talk about this guitar. I almost bough a Squier in 1986 because it felt so good. Rosewood fingerboard, my fingers floated effortlessly about the neck. Well, here I am in 2018 and saw the opportunity to purchase a Squier, and I am in love. It is a Strat. It is a pleasure to play. Most people want to change the pickups and the tuners, and while I do have my eyes on some Seymour Duncan, Stacked Vintage pickups, I love this thing. It feels sexy, it plays like a dream have no problem keeping it in tune...but then, I have years of experience and I know how to tune a guitar. It wails, it screams, it cries...but it has a lot to do with the player. That is the trick with any guitar, but especially a Strat. Les Pauls play with no effort. It takes a player to tame a strat. This one will not disappoint.

"Bought this to use by the pool"

Overall: 3.5 out of 5 stars

For under 200.00 I was pretty pleased with this guitar. I was looking for something to keep near the pool. I looked at a bunch of guitars under 400. I was pleased with this. No sharps on the fret-board, No buzz, stays in tune. Looks too nice to keep at the pool but hey that's what its for. This unit is made in China. Stay away from units that say Indonesia. Im giving this 5 stars. No it is not a Gibson or an 80s Ibanez but for a 200.00 guitar its pretty decent. and if you are shopping at 200 and less than you probably are not expecting the punch of a 2000.00+ Guitar. ;)

I bought this for one because I wanted another Squier base to as an upgrade project and I was thinking maybe the Roger G. wired pickguard, and of course I have a shopping list of hardware I plan to upgrade .... but whoa, took it out of the box, plugged it in and having too much fun to work on it for now. This baby came with an excellent fit and finish, usable hardware, and a pretty great setup for out of the box. The project may have to wait. And... love the color. Not for all I assume, but perfect for me.
