As a fifty year old with hand issues, my doc told me that learning an instrument was the best hand therapy for me. After much consideration, I decided on the Squire "Stop dreaming, Start playing" package. I'm glad I did. it came with a beautiful Squire Stratocaster (I ordered the vintage sunburst), Fender 10G amp, cord, picks, tuner etc. The pack came quickly, and was in perfect condition. After unpacking everything, and after checking to make sure everything worked, I was delighted with the sound and quality of everything I got. you can, quite literally, play it directly out of the package. To my untrained ear, it sounds great. Now for some quick advice.....BEFORE you order this package, go online to the Squire/Fender website and download the instructions for setting up the guitar, as there are none with it. As the tremolo arm is not attached, this will come in quite handy to attach it. Also, while you can play it right out of the box, the guitar MUST be set up professionally at your local music store. The action on the strings was, I think, set at a good height. However, one or two strings were set much higher than the others. Also, the tuner is NOT the greatest. it is sufficient, but can be quite a pain in the butt to work with, especially since the tuners on the guitar are not the highest quality, but definitely suffice. Overall, I am very pleased with the package overall. Now if I can just get it away from my kids, I can play it more! Looks like I have to get my kids a set as well!
Sound
To my untrained ear, it sounds like a guitar should - great!!
Features
Probably the most useful thing I have used has been the tuner. While it is easy to use, maybe a slightly higher quality, and quicker responsive one, would be better.
Ease of Use
VERY easy to play, even for this first time picker.
Quality
Very well made, although, understandably as a beginners value pack, mort parts are not of the upmost highest quality, but they are quite good.
Value
Absolutely worth every cent! The only real suggestion I would make to Fender/Squire is to include full, detailed instructions for the guitar.
Manufacturer Support
Have had no need for support.
The Wow Factor
A BEAUTIFUL Fender made guitar and amp with all the fixings at a very, very reasonable price? What more could you want?

"Great Amp, OK guitar"

My wife purchased this for me Christmas 2013. The Amp is really awesome and sounds great. The guitar isn't bad. The frets are very sharp and I had to file the end so I wouldn't cut myself. After that and setting it up, the guitar plays pretty good. Not a bad sound, and the action is ok too. The neck is great. This guitar is heavier than my Ibanez or my Schecter. If you would at it, you can get a pretty good sound.
