I got the surf green (seafoam) color surf modified strat, this is my second squire also had 93 korean made and I have owned a deluxe lonestar american strat... compared to those this guitar is something fresh, and inspires creativity. I was at first afraid of all the twang talk about these pups but I have not realized that with these they sound very similar to my noiseless pickups they just have a little more kick response and hotness. I play blues and rock and I do many different styles of tunings. Even the sound unplugged rings and plays so smooth. I did perform a set up on the guitar however the action does come a little high. Once you dial in your action this thing sings, The average strum sustain time when not plugged in is about 12 seconds incredible and it just hums and is bright and clear with nice mids. I also changed the strings to .10's It seems the ones that came on the guitar are a little heavy for me. Overall the build and detail is pretty good the neck feels good in hands and the rosewood fingerboard somehow lets me see the strings better or seems to me that way and it looks awesome up against the surf green. My high E machine head seems to spin a little easier than the others but that is easy fix. People that have seen this guitar have all loved it and the way it sounds and plays. I hooked up to my friends hot rod deluxe fender amp and the multiple sounds you can get from the tones and switch is endless. I play multiple styles and I really like this guitar feels smooth and it is fun to play. Finding chords I never knew!

I have the Sea Foam Green model.....I can't say enough about this guitar. I have always been a fan of Squier Guitars, as I can't stand the bloated prices of the Fenders. This is an incredible value, just as responsive, and beautiful as any of the big brother line. The Lipstick tube pick-ups give an interesting twist to the "strat sound", very classic and vintage. I build guitars and I could not find anything, I repeat, ANYTHING, wrong with this beauty. The feel of the neck, the fit and finish, the initial set-up. All as good as any of the big price tag Fender offerings. I am partial to the pearloid pickguards and anyone who has upgraded to them will know that alone is a high quality product, and to include the pearloid rear cover to boot.......fantastic. I would challenge anyone to find something about this one to argue about. It is a in the heavyweight catagory at 13 pounds, but it feels good. Not too heavy and not like a toy guitar. I got one when they first appeared, never even saw one in the local stores, I am glad I did......I would recommend anyone who wants a well made, killer playing, GREAT looking guitar to snap it up before the mucky mucks raise the price. Last thought, as a builder, I would usually take a guitar apart, change the p-ups, pickguard, re-wire to my taste, maybe even put a different neck on. This one is staying just like it came, it is too good to mess with. That is saying ALOT!
