"Excellent buy for a serious lead player/pedal user"

I bought this board about 2 months ago and 3 shows later I'm so glad I got it. The power bay and cable chambers are perfect for what I wanted and needed out of my setup. The included velcro isn't that great but that's a minor complaint in my books. I did have to learn to experiment with different voltages for some pedals (i quickly used up my 9v jacks) but that's my only real complaint.
Sound
No sound reduction from the tone I wanted. It's quiet and doesn't effect my sound. I don't use the buffered pre-amp guitar input but that's a personal taste.
Features
Like I said I used up the 9V jacks pretty quickly but Ive found ways to work around that. I feel like the orientation of the IN/OUT for your effects -> amp on the power bay made my last pedal's orientation on the board a bit awkward but i was able to work around it.
Ease of Use
Pretty simple to set up, just read the manual and pay attention to the in and out slots and you should be able to figure it out. It took me a few minutes to figure the FX loop but that was mainly due to lack of experience in using one.
Quality
Built like a tank made from tanks. It can take one hell of a beating.
Value
It's not cheap. At all. But the zzounds payment plan helped me out big time with that. Depending on your needs the lower tier model of this board, or maybe a pedaltrain would work well for you. But I still recommend this board.
Manufacturer Support
Easy to reach, had to contact them about an issue with the headphone amp and they were able to help me very quickly.
The Wow Factor
It's a gadget freak thing. It's highly equipped, internationally compliant. Has plenty of necessary items on it (the pedal tester is a joy for me).

"Best board money can buy."

I will keep this board until the day I die. If I had to buy another one (Which I may bc of all my pedals) I would definitely get another! Thanks SKB for another amazing product!
Sound
This pedal board is nothing short of amazing! I play live every week with my church band and it has never let me down. I have owned it for over a year now. I have no sound issues whatsoever.
Features
It comes with velcro for your pedals so they will stay in place when you transport the case. The integrated power supply is very handy. The mono out is also awesome for my sound guy. Provides a lot more control for the PA speakers producing an all around awesome mix.
Ease of Use
The board pretty self explanatory and is very easy to use.
Quality
SKB Always makes the best products! This case is the best the market has to offer. It protects my gear very well and I have not had any issues with the circuits.
Value
This product is the best, but a little steep. However, you get what you pay for.
The Wow Factor
Very appealing and cool looking.

"If you play live this is NOT for you."

Overall: 0.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
It has a 5 year warranty and i lasted me less than a month. Sometimes I feel like music gear companies don't actually play music. If SKB did a real field test with this pedal board then it never would have made it past testing. The latches and hooks in the back are a design flaw.
Sound
If you are going to play live and loud then do not use any of the inputs. They create extra noise that's very noticeable at loud volumes. The power itself is ok, it too adds a little noise. Not the cleanest power stage, but the main input and the effects loops add extra noise. I just use this for power.
Features
The features are more gimmicky than useful. Having 2 FX loops could be useful if they didnt add noise to the signal. Cable tester is nice. Headphone out is pointless. It's called the STAGE FIVE - thus it's meant to be ON STAGE. When would I be wearing headphones on stage...
Ease of Use
Forget the power, forget the wiring, forget it all. If you are going to be playing live in clubs, bars, etc then its going to be a little dark. You're also going to want to pack up your expensive pedals after playing. THERE IS A HUGE PROBLEM. IT IS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO CLOSE. There are 2 tiny "hooks" in the back and you have to align the lid properly to connect it to the board. Its a difficult process and several times it's taken me MINUTES to do. Sometimes you are fortunate enough to open for a large band and play to lots of people. They will want you to remove yourself from the stage as quickly as possible. You will struggle with packing up your pedals with this product. If you play live, be warned!
Quality
1 tour and one of the latches came loose. SKB is sending me a new latch, but im going to have to find a way to install it because it requires a pop rivet gun. Its next to impossible to install yet not sturdy enough to last 1 tour...go figure
Value
Expensive for breaking on its first tour. Would work well at home, but then why would you need a pedal board at home?
Manufacturer Support
No questions asked - they will send me the new part. A 10 for support would be if they paid for shipping out to their facility to fix it themselves. If that were the case then they'd be a lot more confident about the quality of their cases.
The Wow Factor
the appeal fooled me into buying it.

"FELL APART AFTER ONE YEAR OF TURING AND 120 FLIGHTS"

Overall: 1.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
This thing will absolutely not take a hard tour, and will not last you more than a year without some sort of issue. I have been through two of them. WASTE OF MY MONEY. Feel free to contact me to ask me specifics, I will even send you pics of what happened to mine after so many flights. adamsherolive@gmail.com
Sound
sound quality was great, no hum and no problems with power options. However, if you want to add anything that uses a standard plug you have to add a power strip to it anyway so the on board power options become kind of pointless.
Features
alll, yes ALL of the 12 V power ports have broken or just go out about every other show
Ease of Use
its very easy to use, however not to great at utilizing space
Quality
this thing is total cheap quality. Anyone saying its a tank or can stand up to hard touring is full of it. After so many flights and TSA looking through it quickly became just horrible. the way its built makes it so when you pick it up you end up holding it with the feet towards your body making a airport persons reaction to set it upside down. out of 162 flights last year it only came out twice sitting right side up on the baggage claim. I put signs on it, I flagged it fragile and i even wrote please. Still always came out upside down. already ALL OF THE VELCRO is pretty much useless and all of the screws along the power converter have come out and are stripped to nothing so it cannot be repaired. Also, just from being dropped by TSA or airport employees on the baggage claim belts the plastic (so called indestructible) has cracked around the power supply and also the hinges have both stretched so far that there is a gap when you close it and I have to use a strap as well. Basically save your money and get the pedal train with flight case.
Value
not at all, this is way overpriced for a bunch of plastic
Manufacturer Support
zero!! they will not do a damn thing.
The Wow Factor
when you first get it it seems like the answer, but it is heavy, cumbersome, and quite impractical. If you just use it at home or to go to a few gigs a month it might be a good idea. But if you tour and rely on it to make money, DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY.

SKB PS-55 Pedal System Customer Review

Overall: 0.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Ease of Use
It makes more noise.
Quality
No, i bought one, last week , got it home the pre-amp was bad, had to drive it 35 miles back to the Guitar center, they had another one shipped to my house, it came out of the box in pieces, so I`m driving it back (another 35 miles)to the guitar center , today and going somewhere else and getting something that`s made better than this piece of junk
Manufacturer Support
N/a
The Wow Factor
That`s part of the problem. The features sell the product, but it`s so cheaply made that it can`t stand up to even moderate road use.

"Stage FIve"

Overall: 1 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)

I bought this pedalboard awhile ago and right from the start I had nothing but trouble with it. Four of the input jacks to the power supply are bad. They say it's "easy to hide your cables" which isn't true once you get close to the front of the board. It is nearly impossible. The latches on the case are poorly made, and you cannot replace them unless you break them off because they are rivet heads. It has some pretty cool features such as the cable tester, but that is about it. Really cool idea, really poor execution. Save yourself the money headache and go buy a pedal train board. That is what I am finally doing, I can't take this thing anymore.

"Everything you need and lot of stuff you thought you didn't but will find yourself grateful you found it here!"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
This review has been selected by our experts as particularly helpful.
Oh this will definitely stay with me and will be until it breaks (kinda hard to believe it could) and even then, I'd buy a new one.
Sound
I bought this pedal board a about a week ago, and I love it!!! For sound really I'm rating the board's patch bay. No signal loss (or at least nothing noticeable, and I have a VERY picky ear).
Features
No other pedal board out there gives you so many options. I have several different pedals from different manufacturers and some require different voltage; this thing took care of the problem. The power bay on this board offers different options to power anything up to 18 VDC! Not to mention it has two variable power outlets that go from 4VDC - 12VDC. Really cool thing about this is that it lets you simulate a "half dead" battery; great for distortion pedals!
Ease of Use
When I took it out of the box it looked overwhelming!! so many inputs/outputs and power outlets, but in the end it turned out to be a piece of cake to set up.
Quality
SKB is well known for their cases and this pedal board / case (ain't that cool?) is no exception. Quality is the highest and this thing will stand any road trip, tour, etc...
Value
I know that at first sight 300 dls might seem like a lot, but it is definitely worth it. All the features on this board you will not find it anywhere else for this price. It really is a professional board without the "custom made" price tag.
Manufacturer Support
Haven't really needed it for this product, but I did needed it for another case and customer service is great!
The Wow Factor
I wasn't sure at first if I wanted the board for one reason; the price tag, but I decided to go ahead and try it out. Now that I have it all set up and have actually played on a gig with it I find myself grateful that the guys at SKB put so much effort while designing this board, all the features put together make this board a very desirable item. Not to mention that the cable concealing system is an amazing extra touch!
