Sounds like fresh snow!! Crisp!!

...if using with other brand name pickups, make sure to reverse your wires on the SSL-1, EX. White will be ground, Black will be live!!

No need for support...check out the Seymour Duncan website, all the support you'll ever need for this product!!

Overall:
Overall this is one great sounding pickup!! Haven't tried the whole calibrated set but I use mine along side two Custom Shop '69 Strat pickups...I like it!!

Single coil pickup.. No need to comment..

Quality:
Seymour Duncan makes the best pickups!

Value:
It was a very valuable purchase.

Desirability:
It not only sounds great but also looks like a true vintage pickup. I like the staggered pole pieces, the look so rough.

Sound:
This it the best pickup I have ever heard. Lovely and it sings like bells..

Ease of Use:
Even with roll-off tone control it sounds awesome..

Support:
Great website, all important information is there.

Overall:
This was my best purchase, it cost me a lot few years ago but I appreciate every minute with my strat with there pickups.

I tried a few different pickups for a new american std strat I bought. I tried texas specials, gold lace sensors, 54 custom shops and this ssl-1. Not to knock any of the other pickups (I think texas specials are my all time favorite single coils), but for the warmer and less punchy sound I was looking for that retained the brittle quality in strats, this pickup did the trick.

This is a good replacement pick-up however I do not like the fact that it does not have hum canceling properties. The price is not that bad, even though I have seen better, Seymor Duncan pick-ups are really good.
