I have a Seymour Duncan JB in some of my guitars, and this SH6 Distortion in some of my guitars. Honestly, I can't give too much difference between them. It probably depends on the body, wood, etc. The bottom line, this pickup is perfect in a mahogany body (Les Paul) type of guitar or an alder body (Strat) looking for that crunch, sustain and output. I don't like EMG's, but I like a pickup that can handle old school metal, Metallica, etc. The tone between the JB and the SH6 is very close, but I will give the SH6 the edge on output and treble. Really love the way it sounds. Bought the nickel covered one to make it look "authentic" in my guitar. Still sounds heavy. Great for pinch harmonics, sustain, everything. Love it.
