I have this in white. Its a shredder guitar basically, with the EMG 81/85 pair. For hard rock and metal you cant go wrong, perhaps you can play some blues on this guitar if you keep the tone relatively clean, but forget about country music, this aint a country guitar at all. If you want a guitar that does it all get a Gibson les Paul Standard. If you want a guitar you can shred and travel with then this is a strong option. This guitar responds best to massive distortion or gain, if you want a good clean sound go with a Fender Strat. Best feature is the string change which just involves placing the double ball strings in the slots and tightening by hand.

Out of the box a home run Minus a little tweaking of neck and bridge height adjustment And I was lost in tone ,punch and just plain fun for hours The pickups are powerfull and very responsive The feel is very nice and the balance is spot on clean or dirty or over the top it's all worth every penny with in the first minute of playing it I was impressed

I originally bought this Steinberger to keep in my car, and leave at work to play on my breaks. But it is slowly turning into my go-to main guitar at home. I heard these guitars were built in China, which made me very nervous about this purchase. Turns out the guitar was made in Korea. Ill take a Korean made guitar over a Chinese made guitar any day. Regardless, the built quality is more than impressive. Its such a different look, that you cant help but smile when you see how small the guitar is one you unbox it. I didnt think a headless guitar would be so comfortable, its perfectly balanced, I like to say that it almost floats when you play it standing. The neck is just a little bit on the thick side (by my standards), maybe like a Les Paul. But nothing to be turned off by. The neck is still very comfortable and easy to play. It definitely has its own unique sound. Its very hard to compare it to any other guitar. I would have to say its more of a metal, hard rock guitar. The cleans are great, but I def dont see this thing as pleasing a jazz or blues guitar player. The features are plentiful. Zero fret, a different Steinberger headstock that allows you to use normal strings, (this thing stays in tune forever!) allen wrenches are built into the butt of the guitar, and of course the little kickstand that lets you play sitting down. Super cool. If you are interested in getting a small, compact, travel guitar. Dont be cheap and buy some "Traveler" goofy looking guitar. Def splurge and get yourself a Steinberger Synapse. It is worth every penny. You will end up taking it with you everywhere you go.
