Well, my wife is happy with her usb mic for chatrooms and such on the laptop and it's way better than what she had. so if you want a decent little usb mic for a quick in to your computer and you don't care it's lopsided in a stereo field which you can fix after the fact, go get a couple.
Sound
Good sounding dynamic, is lopsided in a stereo field for some reason, windows xp found it right off but you have to access the gain input from playback volume and select the mic as the mixer device. The balance or pan control doesn't help either the audio just goes away if you pan one way and the other way is the same as in the center. Ofcourse recording in mono makes no difference. It's an excellent mic for dchat rooms or for a quick input for daw, but I think I'd still prefer using a mixer and doing things the conventional way. But, for the price, it's pretty good, and it doesn't have a lot of proximity effect but the first inch is very sensitive and drops off quickly on sound level, then gets gentler after that. I like the cute little stand it came with.
Features
Well built mic, is solid, and heavy, good wind screen, wish it was truly in the center in a stereo field, on my laptop and desktop in soundforge it tended to record very heavily to the left side like when left side was -5 db it was -21 db on the right side
Ease of Use
Well, it's a mic. A mic is a mic, and this one has decent off axix rejection and is nice. Wouldn't mind an on-off switch
Quality
Haven't needed support except I might go download the software that's supposed to enhance it and see if it straightens out the off center panning
Value
I think it's a good price I think it's well made except for that panning issue.
The Wow Factor
Oh come on give me a break, a mic is a mic. I like the smell of new stuff, but sexy, well, maybe a 4 thousand dollar taylor is sexy, but not a usb microphone 'grin'
