Now I'm not even thinking about getting a new ride. I have other things that im looking forward to. It is holding up good and i plan on keeping it for now.
Sound
I've been drumming for about a year and a half. I bought this cymbal about 2-3 months ago and im stil very impressed with it. it's been good for pretty much everything i've used it for.
Value
this is a great value. I'm not exactly a guy with a lot of money, but I definetly owuld suggest it to any begginer or somebody who can't afford an expensive ride, i think this is probably the best quality you will get for this price.

"Sabian B8 Series 20-in Ride"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I'm a beginner drummer (age 69!) and just got a Sabian B8 20-inch ride for a Father's Day/advanced birthday gift. I had previously read all the reviews and, like some others, I found the sustained ring of this cymbal to be very annoying and objectionable. So what did I do?I affixed 2 squares of MOONGEL180 degrees apart to the cymbals underside and it now sounds truly GREAT!! I know; the experts will say that if you don't like the sound of a cymbal. then buy another type; fine if you're a pro and have losts of cash! Prior to spending much more money on another cymbal, I would highly recommend my remedy! To gauge the sound of my dampened B8, I made an audio recording and,as stated, it now sounds GREAT! The sustained ringing is gone!

This is a fantastic cymbal for the price and it is hard to find anything of this quality for such a low price. I love the sound it makes when playing indoor as well as outdoor venues and it can cut through the sounds of the guitars and vocals during the show.

the ride cymbal is great, im impressed with it. has long ring time,. very good valve and sounds comparable to higher price cymbals. this cymbal is great for beginner or old timers, my friend plays at the casinos, and said b8 series sounds as good as any cymbals he has. more expensive isn't always better. b8 series is probably the best quality you can buy for the price

"Sabian 20inch B8 Ride Cymbal Review"

Overall: 3.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I used it for about 4 years before I replaced it. The replacement was due more to the change in my playing; I moved into jazz and world music. I bought it in a B8 Peformance Pack, with 14 hats, 16 and 18 crashes and this ride; along with the 18 crash, it was my favourite cymbal of the lot. For a beginner, or for someone short of cash to buy an expensive, upmarket cymbal, the B8 20inch Ride is the best on the market.
Sound
It is a fairly heavy ride. Virtually no wash at all; I would never use it for jazz, or any other music on the softer side. Very clear stick definition, does exactly what you want it to. Can go from soft to loud and back down very quickly. Very, very good sound for the price.
Features
Didn't come with anything but the actual cymbals. It would have gotten 10 for this if it had come with spare felts and cymbal sleeves...
Ease of Use
Its no 'easier' to use than any other cymbal. It is quite easy to control though, and does not have a complex sound. A beginner can get a great sound out of it.
Quality
Very strong, has a natural finish. From talking to other people, I've heard this finish can corrode fairly easily if the cymbal gets wet. Sabian have great factory testing for quality, so I have no worries there.
Value
Very good value; one of the cheapest rides on the market, and sounds comparable to many more expensive heavy rides, such as Zildjian Z Rides.
Manufacturer Support
Sabian has already given me great support.
The Wow Factor
Based on the range of cymbals available, I wouldnt say it has 'sex appeal'. With Zildjian K and A customs, and Ks and As, and Sabian HHX and HH out there, I think this 'sex appeal' would be reserved for those. However, if I had to choose between it and say, a Zildian ZBT Ride, I would definately go with the B8.

"Most annoying bell sound i've ever heard"

Overall: 1.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Sound
The ride sound os O.K. Playing the bell makes me want to puke. It is THE MOST ANNOYING BELL EVER MADE be warned. Check out sabian s website for a sound clip - it's all there.
Quality
The cymbal is made well, but its still a toy.
Value
The best for the money, period, but be ready to sacrifice when you hear that awful sound.
Manufacturer Support
Sabian is still good
