I don't prefer the stock rubber pad for the snare drum, so I switched it out with a pdx-6 mesh snare, but they're fine for the toms. The only design flaw is the crash/ride clamps that are unique to the td-4kp let the cymbal stands slide down into the frame when you start to play medium/hard velocities. I'm a light player compared to most, so its not a issue with my technique or anything...kids or fresh players probably wont encounter this problem nearly as much.

This is a great little drum set. Has all of the features you need to get that ideal sound. Had almost replicated my old acoustic set! The portability is the greatest part, it's light weight, it collapses very nicely, and it's very easy to hall around if you occasionally play in a small venues (which I do almost every week). Takes time getting used to (as an acoustic drummer) and I recommend investing in the mesh snare pad. This is a high quality product made with high quality materials, and it truly lives up to the Roland name. Just stop reading and buy it already!

I purchased the warehouse resealed kit at a decent discount. The drums arrive quickly and were packaged extremely well. It was difficult to tell they were not new. The kit was easy to setup and the fold-up potability is great. Although the TD4 module is limited, the module has some solid sounds and the much needed ability to customize. It is a great small gig kit and perfect for my needs. The price is right as well.
