10 out of 10Feature:
Offers patches and rhythm kits. Again, many are similar but with varying reverberation applied to them.
Quality:
It's a Roland...
Value:
It's a mixed bag. I understand why the rhymthm kits were designed the way they were, but it's deceptive to the consumer. We read: "There are 79 rhythm kits!" and we think, "Wow, that's a lot..." It's more like 12 kits with little variation, except on the kicks and snares - they're good. All the other percussive sounds are basically the same.
Desirability:
This does not apply.
Sound:
Excellent toms. The kicks and snares are very good, but you could get similar sound by tweaking the effects on other Roland boards. They mainly added reverberation to many kits. The cymbals, hi hats, etc. are nothing new. There are some nice rides in the mix. Not a lot of patches. 79 rhythm sets are included, but only a portion of the keyboard range is utilized (so you can split the keyboard to access different kits). Some kits use only three keys.
Support:
Never had to deal with them in ten years of use.
Overall:
I am actually selling it, but for someone who does not own a lot of gear or is new to writing music as a hobby or budding profession, this might be worth a look.
