Feature:
Came with sustain pedal, power cable and Sonar LE. Didn't expect anything else. Master control facilities very good. Lot of effort gone into arpeggios, rhythms etc. - can't see the point really (nearly an arranger facility but not quite) Audio key - not sure yet. Song functions yet to be tested but probably useful
Quality:
Built like a tank, fantastic quality - shame the sound quality doesn't match it
Value:
If it lived up to hype it would be more than worth it. Build quality and the keyboard are fantastic but the sound quality.....
Desirability:
I wanted a weighted 88 note keyboard to complement my Tyros. I think I might have just bought myself a very expensive master controller - the Tyros out performs it in every sound category
Sound:
I picked this up yesterday to complement my Tyros 2. I only gave it a brief try out in the shop the week before through a single speaker so I wasn't too concerned about the piano sounds and to be honest was more concerned about how good/useful the other sounds were because I assumed the piano sounds would be top notch. However they are not. Both the grand and electric pianos are significantly inferior to my Clavinova 207 and even the Tyros 2. I am finding it impossible to get a good tone out of any of the grand pianos in spite of changing a multitude of parameters. They all have a boxy, dark quality (reminds me of a Carribean steel band sound!) They seem rather lifeless and lack detail. I must say I'm really disappointed with this. The Tyros piano although not perfect by any means sounds fine through the speakers I'm using and the rest of the Tyros sounds fantastic (so its not the speakers). Some of the other sounds are very full and detailed and the tone wheel organ is very good and compares fairly well with my Hammond XK1. The electric pianos also sound rather muddy and are not even close to the 4 year old Clavinova and markedly inferior to the Tyros also. Not what I expected
Ease of Use:
Lots of reviews have said how easy this is. It's not. It has lots of parameters and mapping exterior modules will take a lot of time. Programming and saving set ups is not completely intuitive
Support:
Just bought it so don't know. I had a faulty VA76 some years ago and Roland just swapped it for another without quibble
Overall:
I wished I'd spent more time trying it out and not believed the numerous reports about how fantastic the pianos were. Now I've bought it I will struggle on t try and get a better piano sound. The keyboard action is just what I wanted but I'll probably have to get the Tyros 3 to get the piano sound I want. I wouldn't buy another if it were stolen - I would probably look at Korg (I find Yamaha action a bit stiff)
