I own a small sound co. Since I bought this mic I have only used it in live applications, for overhead drum application it works well. I've also always had a problem bringing percussion out to the front of a loud stage mix but this mic proved delightful at delivering the goods. I am in the process of putting together a limited recording/mixing suite at home and I intend to buy a second NT-3.
Features
I wish it had a rolloff switch.
Quality
The mic is well made and seems to be tough enough to live in the storage compartment of my SKB mic box,in its bag. For the money vs. bang it gets the job done.

Musical Style:

rockin' rhythm & blues

"very good mic"

I am singer and I use this mic. I own as well a senheisser e-855 and a Tc-Helicon MP-75. There is no comparison between the sound of this mic and the other two. The Tc helicon is very good too but it is made for people who sings very near the mic otherwise you have to put the level up and even sounds good, but the sound of the rode is just great, my partners in the band they just want me to use this, the sound is so clean, so natural, so warm, no comparison. The only problem is the pop, and the handnoise if you move it, playing at the studio and in a live show with an acoustic band, with a good antipop filter and if you leave it in the mic stand then wonderful, otherwise if you need to keep it in your hand and move around you better get another mic i I don’t know how would react in a place full of loud instruments. Anyway it doesn’t get the sounds in front of him, because it is quite directional. I can only say that I love its sound-t is just wonderful. But remember the hand noise and the pop. Ah, and the quality is very good, it is a hard mic, good price for the sound
