It's definitely the most expensive throne I've bought to date(I bought the back rest as well and I'd recommend it), however, it's also the most comfortable. It took some getting used to the shock on it, but it definitely helps on your back. At the end of a 4 hour gig, I used to feel a little sore and fatigued with the old throne. With this throne, that's pretty much gone. I can tell the back rest helps a lot with posture, which is probably a lot to do with it. It's still not quite as comfortable as I was expecting from other people's reviews, but I'm a pretty big guy(6'2 235) and I guess it's really about as good as you can get for a drum throne. Just don't expect a lazy boy recliner lol. It's a drum throne. I was deciding between this and a pork pie, but the zzounds payment deal sold me. I heard pork pie thrones are comfortable too but never used one and after having the backrest and shock option on this throne, I'm glad I went with it. The only thing that bothered me was that there was nothing that said where it was made. I even looked online and could find nothing. I feel that if I'm spending good money on something that it should be made in the US with materials made here as well. Most companies proudly say made in the US if that's where it's made. I guess I can just hope that it was.

Not much to say except that this backrest does a great job of supporting my lower back while I'm playing my guitar. I'm a pretty heavy guy and it has enough give for me to sit comfortably while still supporting me lumbar. I haven't had any troubles with back pain or anything, even after extended (3+ hours) play time. Like a said, a must have!
