"New Coating Process Inferior!"

Overall: 2 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I have used emperors for over 20 years. Now they change the coating process to a consistency of trace paper, "I could read the box it came in through the head." I put it on my snare as usual, but this time the coating came off in a cloud of tiny little dust flakes every time I hit, and I don't hit that hard for blues. Not only that, coating around the edge flaked off where the tip "rubs" during a cross shot. The brushes grab during the swirl. No pitting, and it still sounds great, but I'm going back to Evans dry.
