a berklee classmate of mine turned me on to this thing. he was in the blues guitar course at the time and was showing off some killer blues tone with his srv strat into a fender amp. i've been unhappy with amp sims and had tried various load boxes with direct outs (including some well favored ones) and they just didn't do it for me. enter the JDX and i'm a happy camper!!! i sent my buddy some clips back and now he wants to buy the guitar and amp i have... lol! the JDX gives me hands down the closest print of what i'm hearing when i play that i've come across, and it comes in a very convenient and reasonably priced package. very happy with this purchase!

"at last - radial engineering saves the day!!! at least if you are an electric guitarist!"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars

not expensive considering its about the cost of a microphone, sounds as good or better, and will save you a lot of time.
Sound
compared to my berhinger ultra g, well its more of a contrast than a comparison, the jdx is organic, round, and 3-dimensional, whereas the ultra g is flat and piercing. Sounds like a well-miked cabinet rather than a cheap eq filter. with the jdx, turning up the volume makes it sound better, not worse like the ultra g. the jdx is much more dynamic!!!
Features
dead simple to operate. does not have pad buttons. the construction is 1st class. much better components than almost all other D.I.s.
Ease of Use
you would need massive brain trauma to screw it up.
Quality
extreme reliability, no back-up needed. this pedal is both beatiful and could withstand a bomb blast. incredible design - these guys at radial have excellent ears!
Manufacturer Support
but you will not need it.

I am a touring musician and at the advice of our sound man I tried the jdx box instead of putting a mic on the amp, and I was skeptical at first but when I heard how good it sounded I was very surprised and happy with it. Compared to the mic, the jdx actually sounds better so I'm using it from now on.

Does what Radial says, getting an excellent tone that allows me to add an amp using the amp's return input, but also works with a mixer, making it possible to use a lower watt amp anywhere there's a PA. I was going to have my tech add a line out from my amp, but now I don't need to. Highly recommended!

"This can replace a close mic on your guitar cabinet!"

This is a very handy little box. I found that if I combined a room mic about 3 feet back from my guitar cab, and the signal from this box, I can get extremely natural and full sounding guitar tracks with ease. Changing the room mic allows further artistic coloration, but the full power of the combined tracks comes from the JDX! Great device!
