This is a fine "beginner to starting to enjoy playing in a group" drum kit. Truly an international drum set - British company, made in China, with selected parts, heads, etc., from the U.S. (replaced the REMO heads with Evans). On this last bit, I wanted two of my grandsons to begin with a kit that has beefy, higher quality heads and Evans newest technology delivers. The cymbals, though not public performance grade, are adequate for a first kit. The drum shells are fine, especially with the higher quality heads. The hardware is sturdy enough. The cost, for the value, is really very good. zZounds shipped it to me in Alaska, in plenty of time for Christmas (thank you very much zZounds). Interestingly, I tried to get available starter kit from Gretsch, Ludwig, or Sonor, and none of them would allow a delivery for Alaska. That is a significant flaw on so many, many levels. Over the years, I have ordered guitars, amps, recording and editing gear through zZounds and I can only provide overall praise for their services and their excellent Payment Plans options. They are superb at getting players together with their new instruments and gear.
