Sound:
Nice unit, Overall I love the vinyl mode. I do not do a lot of scratching but mixing in that made is nice. I have two of these, a DJM-800 mixer, two american audio cdi-500's, and two other older drives. I have to say the cdj's are nice. The only thing I would have liked was three to four que buttons like my old drives had.
Feature:
I like the fact that the set up will allow you to extend songs, but the quick return and vinvyl modes are nice. I like the fact you can adjust your tracks similar to a record while mixing. The display, info, and also mp3 capatibility are also nice.
Ease of Use:
Smooth operation, and unit set up make for very easy operation.
Quality:
This unit is built well. I have them and the mixer in a coffin. I travel with them a lot and they always are up for the task. They have perfored with out fail for the few years I have owned them. I usually have the other two drives with me but have never needed them.
Oh, GO DIGITAL less cables to play with.
Value:
price rance comperable
Manufacturer Support:
never needed
Overall:
I will have them for as long as they perform..... a long time.

Sound:
The sound Is Great, no complaints about the D/A quality. The scratch mode is convincing enough, It's not TOTALLY true to the scratch sound of vinil is you turn the platter verrrrry slowly, but what is?
Feature:
I give it a 6, because while It as the bare bones to allow you to DJ, there are many players out there with many more features. I actually like that in some ways, as it un-clutters my setup a little more. FX from Mixer, sound from CD player! still, I could use a couple little things more. It's quite simple compared to many other players costing much less.
Ease of Use:
the plus side to the CDJ800 having few features, is that the ones it does have work very good. the controls just feel right. I've DJ'd on 4-5 other types of Cd players besides Pioneer decks, and when I'm using Pioneer players It just feels right. I know where everything is and I feel confident. I need the hard play/cue buttons and Hate anything using rubber play buttons. I knew how much I liked these once I had to Use Vestax and Denon players at a couple places- They feel fiddly and weird and I spent more brain power making sure the player was doing what I wanted it to do and less time Djing.
Quality:
I Owned the old 800 MKI before, and sold it. I had one of those fail on me and cost 400$ to repair. I used it for a while though, so I can't be mad, but still I wished the money I paid for quality could have lasted longer. That being said I'm sure the breakdown rate for other brands Is an issue as well. The MKII's of course don't have problems (yet) and though there a few years old they don't skip (VESTAX?? ruined my night) and they play what you tell them to, when you tell them too. Hopefully Pioneer's quality reputation will keep these alive for a while.
Value:
These are a DJ keeper for a few reasons. the Resale value for pioneer gear is High! you know anyone with Pioneer CDJ's is serious about their thing. It' also great because any DJ knows how to use one without a learning curve, and Pioneer CDJs are in every club. Much like the SL1200. It's just....always there.
Manufacturer Support:
Well...they fixed my 800 but it wasn't cheap. I'd say average, decent service.
Overall:
overall I'd say, If you plan on using them out at Parties and events at least a couple times a month, go for it. If you only Hit up the Odd party every now and then, I say It's not worth it. Get something Cheaper for your practice and local party and Use something Pioneer whenever its at the gig (because there will be Pioneer there!) Buy it If you have a money and places to DJ in the foreseeable future.
