Suitable for crashing only. I don't recommend using as a ride. I see these as an improvement over the previous TC series. The weight of the pad on top and the trigger module on the bottom helps to keep the playing area facing the drummer when mounted on a cymbal stand at a slight angle. The trigger output also seems a bit "hotter." I've broken the older TC models before, but this new model has held up well for 3 months so far. At the price, they're not bad and I consider them to be somewhat disposable. Time will tell with this new model, but my past experience is that the previous TC's lasted about 6 months to a year and I'm a fairly heavy player. Pintech will repair broken ones for free the first year and for $10 after that. Pintech used to make a cymbal trigger called a "Zenbal." I've had one of those for a couple of years (used as a ride) and like it a lot better. Not sure why they quit making that model.

Pintech should pull these cymbals from the shelf. Poor and inconsistent triggering.
