Style of Music: Stuff you wouldn't pay to hear

+: Clean and punchy, and VERY portable.
Everybody digs the look.

-: Highs lack some sweetness, and the
"funk" switch doesn't complement my
noisy single-coils.

=: Don't expect tonal nirvana from a
battery powered, 20w solid-state
amp with one 8" speaker. That said,
the jack-of-all-trades Hog 30 may
well be the grooviest portable of
all time.

This was a gift. I have a cabin with no power
and this was for playing my bass there.
It sounded so good stright or miked with a
sm-57 it's never left my home studio.
also great for keyboard and very built...
we use it as a seat sometimes.

Style of Music: folk, jazz, FX noise!

Location: Chicago

Very clean sound. I use it for acoustic guitar & keyboard. Have used it with electric but if you're looking for a dirty or distored sound, this amp isn't it. The funk switch is useless, except when you need an extra push of presence to cut through a lot of extraneous noise. Alone or exposed, it sounds hollow and artificial. I also use the HOG-30 in a performance group for straight FX (it's mounted on a backpack frame) and it's loud enough to compete with 10 hand drummers and a bass.

Built like a tank.Great looking covering. Treat it right,and it will last for years.

Costs a little more,but there is a good reason.

Desirability:
It's the most fun you can have with your clothes on!!!

Sound:
The best,most portable little amp on the planet,and it looks great too. Very clean sound for blues,and country.No hum or noise of any kind.You don't have to worry about where you can plug it in. Just turn it on and start playing.Batteries will last for hours.

Support:
No experience with this.

Overall:
I have equiptment that I have owned for 35 years so it will be around as long as I am.
